La nube híbrida y los entornos multicloud se van a imponer. El coronavirus ha sido, en buena medida, el principal responsable de que la digitalización hayan avanzado a ritmos acelerados. Y es que, un 81% de las empresas españolas afirma que la COVID-19 ha convertido a las tecnologías en un factor más estratégico para su negocio y el 85% considera a la nube híbrida como el modelo de infraestructura tecnológica ideal para la “nueva normalidad” provocada por la pandemia.
Además, un 47% de las organizaciones españolas espera tener implementado un modelo híbrido o multicloud en los próximos cinco años, frente al escaso 13% que lo tiene actualmente, lo que supone un crecimiento del 34%. Estas son algunas de las principales conclusiones de la tercera edición del estudio anual Enterprise Cloud Index Report en su versión para España, elaborado por Nutanix.
El estudio no solo ha medido este año el grado de adopción de las tecnologías de cloud privada, pública e híbrida, sino que también ha analizado el impacto de la pandemia provocada por la COVID-19 en las decisiones y estrategias de TI de las empresas.
Así, a lo largo de 2020, el 57% y el 32% de las empresas españolas ha aumentado su inversión en la nube pública y la nube híbrida respectivamente (en comparación con la media mundial del 47% y el 46%); y el 63% ha llevado a cabo actualizaciones generales en sus infraestructuras TI (frente a solo el 43% de las empresas en el resto del mundo).
Otro de los principales efectos provocados por la pandemia ha sido la generalización del teletrabajo, una tendencia que ha llegado para quedarse. Así, si en 2019 casi un 32% de las empresas españolas no tenían a ningún empleado trabajando a tiempo completo desde casa, este porcentaje ha caído bruscamente 30 puntos porcentuales este año y se ha situado en apenas un 2% en 2020 (una cifra incluso menor que la de la media global del 7%).
Otras de las principales conclusiones del estudio relativas al mercado español son las siguientes:
· El ahorro de costes ya no es el principal factor para el cambio de las infraestructuras tecnológicas en las empresas españolas. Sus principales motivos para abordar la transformación son aumentar la flexibilidad (60%), incrementar la agilidad de gestión (56%) y obtener un mayor control de los recursos de TI (53%). El ahorro de costes, por el contrario, ha pasado a ocupar el décimo lugar en la lista, con apenas un 13%, un porcentaje mucho menor que el de la media mundial, que se sitúa en el 27%.
· Se espera que la penetración de los Data Centers tradicionales se desplome desde el 18% actual hasta apenas el 1% en los próximos cinco años. Hoy, un 19% de las empresas españolas opera todavía exclusivamente con servicios de nube pública (frente al 10% de media mundial) y un 15% con nubes privadas (en comparación con el 22% mundial).
· Mientras que los resultados globales del estudio confirmaron una distribución bastante igualitaria de las cargas de trabajo de las aplicaciones entre los distintos tipos de nubes, en España, las empresas siguen ejecutando más aplicaciones en las nubes públicas (44%) que la media mundial (34%). No obstante, se espera que el uso de la nube privada en España aumente en 11 puntos porcentuales durante el próximo año.
· Un tercio de los encuestados en España (33%) afirma que ya ha desplegado completamente o está en proceso de desplegar una infraestructura hiperconvegente (HCI) y un 48% planea hacerlo en los próximos dos años.
Finalmente, el estudio señala que, en todo este proceso de transformación y adopción de nuevas tecnologías en la nube, las organizaciones españolas tendrán que afrontar diferentes retos. Así, más de un tercio de ellas (39%) dice carecer de los conocimientos informáticos o habilidades necesarias para gestionar los entornos de nube híbrida y un 43% cree que le falta de experiencia en tecnologías nativas cloud como kubernetes. En cuanto a los principales obstáculos que mencionan las empresas españolas a la hora de trabajar con un entorno de nube híbrida, la seguridad (58%) y la gestión de cargas de trabajo en diferentes entornos (50%) son los más mencionados. Curiosamente, sólo el 10% menciona los retos relacionados con los silos que se pueden producir entre los equipos que gestionan nubes públicas y privadas (en comparación con el 22% de media mundial).
