Según el “Estudio sobre la Ciberseguridad y Confianza en los hogares españoles”, correspondiente al segundo semestre de 2017 y realizado por el Observatorio Nacional de las Telecomunicaciones y Sociedad de la Información (ONTSI), la e-confianza de los usuarios está empezando a recuperarse tras los incidentes de seguridad sufridos el año pasado.
Entre las conclusiones del informe contrasta el nivel real de incidentes que sufren los equipos y dispositivos móviles de los usuarios –gracias al software Pikerton– con las percepciones que éstos tienen, y se muestra la evolución temporal de estos indicadores.
Casi 7 de cada 10 usuarios (68,5%) consideran que su ordenador o dispositivo móvil se encuentra razonablemente protegido frente a las potenciales amenazas de Internet. El uso real de soluciones antivirus es del 69% en PC y del 43,7% en dispositivos Android. No obstante estos datos son inferiores a los que declaran los usuarios.
Con el software malicioso cada vez más capaz de eludir las detecciones de los recursos antivirus, el 61,7% de los usuarios de ordenadores y el 28,1% de dispositivos Android, no se percata de las infecciones existentes en sus equipos.
En cuanto al acceso a Internet mediante redes inalámbricas, el 93,8% de los usuarios se conecta mediante una conexión propia, el 18,9% lo hace a través de una red inalámbrica Wi-Fi pública y el 14,9% utiliza una red particular de otro usuario.
Según los resultados de las encuestas, en los hogares españoles se ha producido un crecimiento en la utilización de programas antivirus (2%) y en las actualizaciones del sistema operativo (2,6 puntos porcentuales), durante el segundo semestre de 2017. Las medidas de seguridad automatizables más utilizadas son los programas antivirus (73,6%), las mencionadas actualizaciones del sistema operativo (59,4%), el uso de cortafuegos (37,6%) o la utilización de programas o configuración de bloqueo de pop-ups (29,5%).
No obstante en cuanto a las medidas de seguridad no automatizables, se registra un descenso en el uso de contraseñas por parte de los usuarios, que se sitúa en el 55,5% (cae en 2,6 puntos porcentuales con respecto al primer semestre de 2017). A continuación se sitúa la eliminación de archivos temporales y cookies (46%), la copia de seguridad de archivos (31,8%) y los certificados digitales de firma electrónica (20%).
Con todo, al contrastar los datos reales con lo que declaran los usuarios, la brecha aumenta, con datos favorables a la utilización real. El 37,6% de los internautas encuestados declara utilizar software cortafuegos en sus ordenadores, cuando en realidad este tipo de programas se encuentra en el 95,9% de los analizados. Para los programas antivirus el dato real y el declarado son mucho más cercanos, ya que cuentan con ellos el 69% frente al 73,6% que declara tenerlos.
El estado de las redes wifi son una importante incognita para la mayoría de los usuarios. El desconocimiento del estado de la red Wi-fi del hogar se incrementa nuevamente en este periodo (1,9 puntos porcentuales), situándose en el 13,2% de los usuarios. La mitad de ellos -un 49,9%- usa estándares WPA y WPA2, un 4,9% utiliza cifrado WEP —obsoleto y fácilmente vulnerable—, otro 4,9% de los usuarios deja su red inalámbrica Wi-Fi desprotegida y el 13,2% desconoce su estado de protección.
Con Android 6 y Android 7 como las versiones más utilizadas, el uso de soluciones antivirus en estos dispositivos, sigue cayendo, contando ahora 19,9 puntos porcentuales. Así, las medidas de seguridad más empleadas en dispositivos Android son el pin u otro patrón de desbloqueo seguro (76,9%), el bloque automático (70,9%) y la copia de seguridad (55,9%).
Si bien el uso real en soluciones antivirus se acerca mucho al declarado, la cosa cambia notablemente cuando hablamos de pin u otros sistemas de desbloque, ya que el 76,9% de los usuarios dicen utilizarlo, pero realmente solo lo hace el 45,4%.
