En los últimos años, los conceptos de “trabajo” y “casa” se han acercado cada vez más. El trabajo home office llegó para quedarse y, actualmente, es la principal forma de empleo para muchas personas que trabajan de forma independiente o para terceros. Sin duda, uno de los principales motivos es la situación mundial a causa del coronavirus, pero esta no es la única “culpable”.
El teletrabajo y el home office son modelos perfectos para muchos negocios y profesionales. No obstante, mantener el rendimiento esperado en estas circunstancias no siempre resulta sencillo por las múltiples distracciones en el hogar. Por ello Hotmart, empresa global de tecnología y líder en productos digitales ha elaborado unos sencillos consejos para que emprendedores en general puedan asegurar e impulsar su productividad, que se detallan a continuación:
El primer consejo es elegir un lugar adecuado para trabajar: un espacio bien delimitado donde uno va a trabajar y no descansar o dormir (nada de acomodarse en la cama o en el sofá), que favorezca la concentración. Lo ideal es una habitación exclusiva o una parte de la casa sin mucho tránsito que, en lo posible, siga las recomendaciones habituales en materia de ergonomía, iluminación y temperatura y que sea apta para hacer videoconferencias y reuniones virtuales. En cuanto a la actitud, darnos una ducha antes o después, y cambiarnos de ropa para “ir a trabajar” o cuando terminemos la jornada, es una buena forma para hacer entender a nuestro cerebro cuándo es hora de empezar o de terminar (aunque no sea necesario ponernos traje, trabajar en pijama no suele ser una buena idea).
Las rutinas bien definidas son claves para un teletrabajo eficiente. Para evitar el descontrol, un profesional independiente o con horarios flexibles necesita fijar una hora para empezar y una hora para terminar de trabajar, y tratar de convertirlo en un hábito. Por supuesto, irán surgiendo imprevistos, pero esto no quiere decir que debamos renunciar a la planificación. Poder administrar nuestro propio tiempo otorga más libertad, pero también mayores responsabilidades y, en este sentido, hay que establecer prioridades, organizar bien las tareas domésticas, el trabajo y el ocio, respetando también los plazos de entrega y los horarios del resto de la empresa o de nuestros clientes.
Huir de las distracciones
Este es uno de los puntos más difíciles en el teletrabajo, ya que en casa hay siempre muchas más distracciones que en una oficina. Al trabajar solos, solemos invertir más tiempo en el móvil o en visitar esta web que nada tiene que ver con el trabajo y que nos hará perder la concentración. Una manera de evitarlo es sacar las notificaciones, al empezar a trabajar, y estableciendo pequeñas pausas para revisar los mensajes recibidos. También resulta muy útil avisar a los demás ocupantes de la casa de que necesitan respetar su espacio y tiempo de trabajo.
Aprender a priorizar
Aunque en el teletrabajo uno pueda manejar su tiempo de manera mucho más libre, es muy importante priorizar las tareas urgentes, fijar plazos, respetarlos y comunicarse con quien sea necesario, si el plazo acordado se va a incumplir. También es importante adelantar todas las tareas que se pueda, para prevenir los posibles incumplimientos debido a los imprevistos. Por fin, es clave evitar llevar a cabo múltiples tareas a la vez, o tratar de hacer más de lo que uno puede, para asegurar un trabajo de calidad y con efectividad.
Aprovechar las tecnologías disponibles para no procrastinar
Las nuevas tecnologías son una ayuda clave para un teletrabajo más productivo, facilitando la comunicación y con herramientas que permiten evitar las distracciones. Si clasificarnos los enemigos del teletrabajo, la procrastinación ocuparía el primer lugar. Se alimenta de las notificaciones ajenas al trabajo, de una charla con la familia, una compra que llega a cualquier hora o de una siesta fuera de horario… Para evitarlas, tenemos disponibles toda una serie de aplicaciones para silenciar el móvil, para tener una rutina más productiva usando técnicas como la “pomodoro”, para priorizar mejor o que nos avisan de las tareas y reuniones pendientes, que usadas de manera inteligente, son un aliado de la productividad.
Si en una oficina todas las personas están en sintonía con un propósito en común, en casa no es así y es importante que todas las personas convivientes respeten los tiempos y el espacio de quien teletrabaja. La mejor manera de lograrlo es estableciendo reglas claras, compartiendo la agenda y también avisando con antelación cuáles son los horarios en los que se necesita más silencio, como por ejemplo durante una reunión.
Por último, pero no menos importante: ¡hay que saber cuándo parar! Las personas que teletrabajan deben respetar su cuerpo y su mente, evitando el estrés, con actividades físicas como caminatas, ejercicios o clases online y saber que a una hora se debe apagar el ordenador y se deben alejar del trabajo durante unas horas. El ocio es un excelente medio para descansar la mente y aumentar la productividad, que mantendrá la motivación en la jornada siguiente. Un buen medio para los descansos puntuales también es cambiar de actividad, ir a otros ambientes dentro de la casa, conversar durante un rato o entretenerse con cualquier tarea doméstica.
