Para 2025, Gartner estima que más del 95% de las nuevas cargas de trabajo digitales se implementarán en plataformas nativas de la nube, frente al 30% en 2021.
La pandemia en curso y el aumento de los servicios digitales están haciendo de la nube la pieza central de las nuevas experiencias digitales, según el hilo conductor del discurso de Gartner. “No hay estrategia de negocio sin una estrategia en la nube”, sentencia Milind Govekar, distinguido vicepresidente de Gartner. “La adopción y el interés en la nube pública continúa sin cesar a medida que las organizaciones persiguen una política de ‘nube primero’ (cloud first) para incorporar nuevas cargas de trabajo. La nube ha permitido nuevas experiencias digitales, como los sistemas de pago móvil, donde los bancos han invertido en innovadoras entidades, en las empresas de energía que utilizan la nube para mejorar las experiencias minoristas de sus clientes o en las compañías de automóviles, que lanzan nuevos servicios de personalización para la seguridad del cliente y el infoentretenimiento”.
En 2022, se estima que los ingresos globales de la nube totalizarán 474.000 millones de dólares (418.730 millones de euros), frente a los 408.000 millones en 2021, mostrando un incremento del 16%. Y la tendencia es imparable hasta tal punto que, según esta firma analista, los ingresos en la nube superarán los ingresos no cloud para los mercados de TI empresariales relevantes.
En su simposio anual de Gartner se puso sobre la mesa esta realidad incontestable. Los expertos de esta firma están plenamente convencidos de que la nube se convertirá en el estilo generalizado de computación en el futuro cercano.
Los analistas de Gartner dijeron que más del 85% de las organizaciones adoptarán un principio de nube primero para 2025 y no podrán ejecutar completamente sus estrategias digitales sin el uso de arquitecturas y tecnologías nativas de la nube.
“La adopción de plataformas nativas de la nube significa que los equipos digitales o de productos utilizarán principios y capacidades arquitectónicas para aprovechar las capacidades inherentes dentro del entorno de la nube”, argumenta Govekar. “Las nuevas cargas de trabajo implementadas en un entorno nativo de la nube serán omnipresentes, no solo populares, y cualquier cosa que no sea en la nube se considerará legacy”. Para 2025, Gartner estima que más del 95% de las nuevas cargas de trabajo digitales se implementarán en plataformas nativas de la nube, frente al 30% en 2021.
A medida que el modelo operativo cambia, la organización recurrirá a un modelo operativo orientado al producto donde todo el flujo de valor del negocio y la TI tendrá que estar alineado por los productos. Esto creará nuevos roles y responsabilidades, como ingenieros de confiabilidad del sitio, gerentes de productos o comunidades de prácticas.
El desarrollo de aplicaciones cambiará al ensamblaje e integración de las mismas. Las aplicaciones serán ensambladas y compuestas por los equipos que las utilicen. “Los silos tecnológicos y organizativos de desarrollo de aplicaciones, automatización, integración y gobernanza se volverán obsoletos”, asegura Govekar. “Esto impulsará el aumento de las plataformas de aplicaciones low code (LCAP) y el desarrollo ciudadano”.
Para 2025, el 70% de las nuevas aplicaciones desarrolladas por las organizaciones utilizarán tecnologías de código bajo o sin código, frente a menos del 25% en 2020. El auge de las plataformas de aplicaciones low code (LCAP) está impulsando el aumento del desarrollo ciudadano, y en particular la función de los tecnólogos de negocios que informan fuera de los departamentos de TI y crean capacidades de tecnología o análisis para uso comercial interno o externo.
El extremo del servicio de acceso seguro (SASE, Secure Access Service Edge) entregado en la nube presenta la oportunidad de crecimiento más rápida en el mercado de redes y seguridad de red. Como la mayor parte del tráfico de sucursales y ubicaciones de computación del edge no irá a un centro de datos empresarial, los CIO y los líderes de TI utilizarán cada vez más SASE para proteger las necesidades de acceso en cualquier lugar y en cualquier momento de los usuarios y dispositivos.
Gartner calcula para el presente ejercicio que el gasto de los usuarios finales en SASE totalizará 6.800 millones de dólares, frente a los 4.800 millones en 2021 (2.000 millones más o, lo que es lo mismo, un 41%). Además, para 2025, más del 50% de las organizaciones tendrán estrategias explícitas para adoptar SASE, frente a menos del 5% en 2020.
“En lugar de enviar todo el tráfico a dispositivos de seguridad centrales, los CIO y los líderes de TI deben brindar seguridad a las sesiones, en lugar de llevar las sesiones a la seguridad”, concluye Govekar.
