La pandemia ha cambiado por completo la forma de trabajar de miles de trabajadores, incluyendo también la implantación de entornos de trabajo híbridos que la tecnología hace posibles. Con el fin de entender mejor la realidad del teletrabajo en nuestro país, AIMC incluyó en el trabajo de campo de la 3ª ola del EGM (del 9 de septiembre al 17 de noviembre de 2020), distintas preguntas relacionadas con esta cuestión.
“Aunque cuando acabemos con la pandemia, lo más seguro es que se recupere parte del trabajo presencial, es muy probable que la fórmula del teletrabajo, completo o parcial, se mantenga en España, acercándonos a cifras similares al resto de la Unión Europea”, asegura José Andrés Gabardo, Director Técnico de AIMC.
Los datos revelan que un 18% de los trabajadores realizaron todo, o parte de su trabajo desde casa, lo que equivale a más de 3.000.000 de personas. Concretamente, el 8% lo hicieron a tiempo completo fuera de la oficina, mientras que el 10% restante lo hizo de manera semi-presencial.
El incremento del trabajo en remoto se entiende mejor al compararlo con la situación en España un año atrás. Y es que, del total de personas trabajando a distancia en la actualidad, solo un 29% ya lo hacían a finales de 2019, mientras que un 54% de encuestados ha iniciado el teletrabajo durante 2020. Esto se traduce en que más de 1.600.000 de los trabajadores actuales han comenzado a teletrabajar como consecuencia de los efectos del COVID-19 en nuestro país.
Si atendemos al índice socioeconómico de los encuestados, aquellos que se sitúan en las categorías más altas son los que más teletrabajan, representando a más del 35% y llegado casi al 15% los que declaran hacerlo siempre. A medida que bajamos en la clasificación, se observa también cómo gana terreno el trabajo puramente presencial.
Algunos otros datos que nos devela esta 3ª ola del EGM tienen que ver con cómo se distribuye el teletrabajo por cuestiones de género o edad. Por ejemplo, aunque el porcentaje de hombres y mujeres que teletrabajan en algún momento de la semana es muy similar, cuando nos fijamos en quienes lo hacen exclusivamente desde casa, las mujeres están 2 puntos por encima que los hombres.
Si atendemos a la edad, observamos cómo los perfiles más jóvenes son quienes más trabajo desde casa realizan. Superan el 20% los jóvenes de entre 20 a 34 años que únicamente teletrabajan, mientras que la cifra descuente hasta el 5,6% entre la franja de 55 a 64 años. Fijándonos en la semi-presencialidad, son los mayores de 65 quienes lideran con un 13,7%.
Por último, cabe destacar también las diferencias encontradas también en cuanto a la nacionalidad. Y es que, mientras que un 19,2% de españoles manifiesta estar en alguna modalidad de teletrabajo, esa cifra se reduce a la mitad (10,2%) en el caso de los trabajadores extranjeros.
