El 70% de las organizaciones ha incrementado y mejorado la colaboración entre las áreas de tecnología y de negocio, según el informe ‘CIO Survey 2020’, elaborado a partir de una encuesta a más de 4.200 líderes de Tecnología de 83 países. Además, los responsables de IT perciben tener más influencia: más de seis de cada diez encuestados creen firmemente que su influencia ha aumentado a raíz de la pandemia.
Los responsables de tecnología o CIO (Chief Information Officer) se han visto sometidos a la presión y la urgencia de ofrecer soluciones inmediatas en un escenario inédito y excepcional. Al principio, con la selección de las herramientas adecuadas para mantener las operaciones de las empresas; y después, iniciando o dando continuidad a procesos de digitalización para adaptarse al momento actual.
“Debido a toda esta aportación, el CIO se ha convertido en un partner de referencia dentro de la estrategia corporativa y un influencer en el comité de dirección, no solo a nivel tecnológico, sino como un facilitador en cualquier iniciativa de transformación dentro de esta nueva normalidad”, sostiene Fernando Echevarría, socio responsable de Tecnología en el área de Consultoría de KPMG España. Una tendencia que ya se estaba produciendo y que se ha consolidado en los últimos meses.
Un 41% de las organizaciones reconoce que el trabajo en remoto de estos meses ha expuesto más a los empleados y ha supuesto un incrementado de los ciberataques, principalmente de phishing y malware. Por este motivo, Fernando Echevarría considera que “será fundamental trabajar la creatividad para desarrollar iniciativas (como pilotos pequeños en modalidad agile) con unos presupuestos cada vez más reducidos y, por supuesto, definir una estrategia de ciberseguridad con la que minimizar los riesgos y reducir los tiempos de respuesta ante los ataques”.
La pandemia ha acelerado la transformación digital y la adopción de tecnologías emergentes. De hecho, el 47% afirma haber realizado alguna inversión en seguridad y privacidad. Pero la poca experiencia in-house deja al descubierto un amplio margen de mejora. La relevancia de este aspecto es tal que por primera vez desde que se elabora esta encuesta, (año edita su 22ª edición), la experiencia y conocimientos en ciberseguridad ha pasado a ser el conjunto de capacidades más demandado entre estos profesionales (35%), especialmente en el ámbito de la seguridad en la nube y de los datos, por delante de otras habilidades tecnológicas como la gestión organizacional (27%), la arquitectura empresarial (23%) y la arquitectura técnica y análisis avanzado, ambas en un 22%.
Talento digital para impulsar el cambio
A diferencia de la crisis de 2008, el análisis de KPMG demuestra que no ha habido carencia relevante de talento durante la pandemia. Solo un 12% de las organizaciones han sufrido algún tipo de limitación de perfiles dentro del equipo de tecnología que haya provocado una ralentización en el impulso para el cambio y resiliencia de la organización frente a la COVID-19. Herramientas como la flexibilidad laboral o el outsourcing han minimizado el impacto.
“En esta nueva realidad, los responsables de IT están abriendo los ojos en tres aspectos. Primero, en la importancia de establecer relaciones con empresas de servicios de alta capacidad (proveedores de referencia) que les permitan flexibilizar perfiles y adecuar necesidades según el momento. Por otro lado, están entendiendo el potencial de disponer de un pool de talento sin una localización física concreta (el teletrabajo lo permite) y su orientación a resultados. Y, en tercer lugar, han tomado consciencia de la necesidad de reposicionar el área de IT en la organización, para que no sea considerada como un mero instrumento de soporte interno”, describe Echevarría.
