El devenir de las circunstancias y la “nueva normalidad” siguen contribuyendo a la digitalización y la innovación tecnológica en las empresas, que están viviendo una evolución sin precedentes en los últimos años. Esto se traduce, no solamente en la creación de nuevas profesiones (el informe Empleos Emergentes 2020 de LinkedIn revela que, en los tres meses de crisis sanitaria, han surgido 15 nuevas profesiones, de las que 10 están relacionadas con la tecnología) sino también en la aparición de nuevas soluciones empresariales, nuevos modelos de negocio, de gestión y de relación con los stakeholders. Estamos, por tanto, siendo espectadores de la creación de nuevas oportunidades y aquellos que sepan adaptarse a estos nuevos retos tendrán un papel protagonista.
En este contexto, los profesionales TIC son los principales afectados ya que desarrollan su actividad en un sector en el que las herramientas y el entorno productivo, cambian continuamente y a una gran velocidad. De hecho, según el Foro Económico Mundial, en el caso del especialista TIC, el vertiginoso ritmo de la innovación tecnológica hace que pierda el 40% de sus habilidades cada tres años e incluso, en menos tiempo, lo que convierte a la formación continua en materia capital y absolutamente necesaria para continuar con altos niveles de empleabilidad y no convertirse en un perfil profesional de tecnologías legacy.
Además de la apuesta por la formación continua a nivel personal y privado, el departamento de recursos humanos tiene un papel esencial, ya que debe proveer a los profesionales de un sistema de aprendizaje y de planes formativos corporativos que contribuyan a tal fin. De hecho, a parte del sueldo, es uno de los requisitos solicitados por los nuevos profesionales tech cuando se incorporan a una empresa.
Actualmente tenemos a nuestra disposición múltiples opciones formativas adaptadas a las circunstancias, preferencias y recursos de cada persona, una amplia variedad de contenidos para profundizar tanto en hard skills como soft skills. Además, las fuentes de conocimientos se han extendido y democratizado. Existen muchas universidades y escuelas de negocio orientadas a impartir formaciones en formatos presenciales y/u online, también tenemos la posibilidad de aprender con recursos en plataformas en línea que ofrecen MOOC´s, asistir a eventos, webinars, seminarios, conferencias, y/o a través de lecturas de artículos publicados en prensa o en blogs. Hoy, gracias a la tecnología, tenemos acceso a multitud de servicios formativos que cumplen con el objetivo de luchar contra la obsolescencia del conocimiento, mantenernos actualizados y empleables.
Sobre las áreas tecnológicas que requieren un mayor grado de actualización, tomando como referencia un informe elaborado por la Fundación Telefónica, basado en las ofertas de empleo de Infojobs y Tecnoempleo, en el que se detallan las profesiones y habilidades más demandadas en España del sector TIC, hay que destacar JavaScript, Cloud Computing, Angular, Spring, Microservicios, Scrum y Python.
Debemos incorporar las nuevas tendencias y tecnologías disponibles en los planes de formación continua. Es esencial para un profesional TIC mantenerse actualizado, por lo que es indispensable construir un hábito de formación, como hemos mencionado a través de todos los recursos disponibles y a nuestro alcance. No se trata, por tanto, de iniciar un proceso de formación cuando nuestros conocimientos han quedado obsoletos sino de establecer un plan de formación continua que nos permita estar constantemente actualizado. Nuestra recomendación es realizar una lectura de artículos semanalmente, acudir a un evento, webinar, conferencia o seminario al menos una vez por trimestre y realizar dos formaciones al año.
Por todo esto, dentro de una compañía, el departamento de recursos humanos tiene un papel imprescindible y debe permitir mantenerse actualizado a los colaboradores para su desarrollo profesional y poder así seguir aportando valor a los procesos y clientes. Por ejemplo, uno de los modelos de aprendizaje es el modelo 70/20/10 que propone que este se adquiera según la proporción del 70 % proveniente del desarrollo propio en el puesto de trabajo, el 20 % está proporcionado por la experiencia a través del feedback con ese mismo entorno y por último 10 % lo representa la formación.
En definitiva, las empresas deben situar a los empleados en el centro y la tecnología debe ser un elemento accesorio que permita aprovechar al máximo el talento de estos haciendo su desempeño más eficiente. La experiencia del empleado es una filosofía de gran acogida y que redunda en la retención del talento y, por ende, reduce la rotación y contribuye al Employer Branding. Además, como vemos, existen multitud de opciones a nuestro alcance, la formación continua es nuestra responsabilidad, por ello: aprende y destaca, está a tu alcance.
