Este tipo de aplicaciones se cuelan por primera vez en el ciclo de innovaciones emergentes de la consultora Gartner, en el que las tecnologías adaptativas marcarán el devenir de los próximos años.
Las aplicaciones de salud y detección de coronavirus se han convertido en una tendencia emergente tecnológica que marcará este año 2020 y los sucesivos, según Gartner. Por primera vez, este tipo de funcionalidades se cuelan en el Ciclo Hype de la consultora, que atisba el devenir de las nuevas tecnologías en el próximo lustro. Auspiciadas por países muy poblados como China y la India, sin obviar, por supuesto, la crisis sanitaria global que estamos padeciendo, este tipo de aplicaciones han ganado una cuota de mercado de entre el 5 y el 20% en los últimos meses y entran por primera vez en esta lista de una selección de entre más de 1.700 nuevas tecnologías que aspiran a transformar la sociedad y los negocios.
También conocidos como pasaportes de salud, en la mayoría de las ciudades de China los ciudadanos y visitantes deben descargar esta funcionalidad en sus dispositivos móviles para conocer el estado de la pandemia tanto en espacios como en servicios públicos y privados. En India, la aplicación Aarogya Setu indica qué personas pueden viajar de manera segura en medios de transporte como el tren y el avión. Poco a poco, son muchos los países del mundo los que están implantando sus propias creaciones. En España, RadarCOVID ya ha empezado a funcionar en varias comunidades autónomas y se espera que a partir de septiembre esté a pleno rendimiento en todo el territorio. Según ha comentado el presidente del Gobierno, Pedro Sánchez, esta semana en rueda de prensa, solo el uso de la aplicación por parte del 20% de la población podría ayudar a reducir la expansión del virus en hasta un 30%.
El estudio de la consultora pone en el candelero también a otras tecnologías como las arquitecturas compuestas, que se definen como aquellas que se muestran más ágiles y receptivas ante los rápidos cambios y la descentralización de las empresas para responder a las nuevas necesidades comerciales. Este diseño modular, alecciona Gartner, permite a las organizaciones resistir y recomponerse cuando sea necesario. Una empresa de estas características se basa por la modularidad, eficiencia, mejora continua e innovación adaptativa.
Por su parte, el informe destaca la llamada confianza algorítmica, es decir, aquellos modelos de datos que garanticen la privacidad y la confianza de los usuarios, la procedencia de los activos y las identidades. A este modelo le sigue la utilización de nuevos materiales, más allá del silicio, para generar tecnologías y semiconductores más pequeños y rápidos. Por ejemplo, existe un tipo de computación y almacenamiento de ADN que utiliza este compuesto y la bioquímica en lugar de las arquitecturas cuánticas o de silicio para realizar cálculos o almacenar datos. La información se codifica en cadenas de ADN sintético para su almacenamiento y las enzimas proporcionan capacidades de procesamiento a través de reacciones químicas.
Gartner también dedica un apartado importante a la llamada inteligencia artificial formativa, es decir, la que es capaz de evolucionar para adaptarse a las distintas situaciones. Es capaz de crear contenido nuevo o alterar el existente según lo aprendido. Esta es la tecnología que se encuentra detrás de los deep fakes o vídeos falsos que pueden causar graves casos de desinformación y pérdida de reputación.
Por último, nos encontramos ante la era del ‘yo’ digital. Es decir, ante todas las tecnologías que se integran con las personas y que ayudan a crear identidades y perfiles virtuales de las personas. Aquí nos podemos encontrar desde los ya citados pasaportes sanitarios hasta los gemelos digitales.
