La invasión digital ha impactado a todas la industrias, el sector de la salud es uno de los que mayores cambios e innovaciones en los próximos años. La automatización, big data, inteligencia artificial e IoT serán calves para mejorar la experiencia de los pacientes.
Jaume Ribera, profesor del IESE y director del Centro para la Investigación en la Gestión y la Innovación en el Sector Sanitario, mencionó que los hospitales van a ser más pequeños, innovadores, eficientes, complejos, integrados y, por supuesto, dirigidos por médicos.
Según las encuestas y entrevistas que realizó Ribera, hay una serie de factores que aún obstaculizan la eficacia en la atención médica, tales como la reducción al gasto en atención, el aumento a las cargas de trabajo y el estancamiento de los salarios a los trabajadores. Esto, en resumen, dificultará garantizarnos una atención digna en los hospitales.

Sin embargo, para 2030 se prevé que los hospitales ya habrán cambiado y que pondrán al paciente en el centro del sistema. Dichas herramientas ayudarán a tener más responsabilidad de salud a través de la prevención, y los centros de atención médica se encargarán de proveer servicios de alto valor y complejidad, de gran eficiencia pero sin mucha actividad, aunque con nuevos servicios de asistencia.
¿Cómo será esto posible?
La inteligencia artificial, la robótica, la telemedicina y las nuevas tecnologías de interacción serán fundamentales en hospitales o clínicas, en quirófanos y consultorios. Por ejemplo, la atención será descentralizada, las consultas a distancia, y las visitas a los nosocomios solo se harán cuando sean de extrema urgencia o muy graves.

-Los robots cumplirán tareas rutinarias que actualmente realizan algunos enfermeros, quienes asumirán tareas asignadas a los médicos, y estos a su vez podrán dedicarse a realizar otras tareas que darán mayor valor al proceso de atención.
-La telemedicina será de ayuda para cuando no tengamos que trasladarnos hasta el centro de salud. Con esta idea se pretende que un equipo médico pueda dar seguimiento a nuestras enfermedades y abarcar áreas de difícil acceso a médicos especialistas.

-Los dispositivos portables como los heareables (asistentes de salud en el oído) permitirán monitorear con sensores nuestras constantes vitales que se conectarán a Internet o a algún algoritmo de inteligencia artificial.

En general, los hospitales del futuro tendrán nuevas tecnologías que responderán también a una sociedad nueva y cambiante. Por otra parte, se prevé mayor esperanza de vida y descenso de natalidad, aunque posiblemente también presentemos otras patologías de igual o mayor complejidad que las actuales.
