La migración a la nube ya no tiene vuelta atrás. Ese sería el titular de un estudio de Equinix realizado entre 1.200 profesionales TI en EMEA, según el cual el 70% de los entrevistados apuestan por trasladar parte de sus servicios de negocio a la nube en los próximos años. El factor de proximidad resulta clave para el 60% de los profesionales TI encuestados que se decidirían a elegir un data center en el mercado local. En el lado negativo de la balanza también destaca que el 70% de los profesionales encuestados todavía perciben riesgos de ciberseguridad en torno a la adopción de modelos en la nube.
En España, el 78% de los encuestados cree que su organización se moverá más hacia la nube, una tasa más alta que en relación al resto de encuestados. El 63% también cree que los proveedores de servicios en la nube son un factor importante a la hora de elegir un data center en España. Y el 46% de los profesionales IT encuestados piensa que los proveedores de servicios en la nube son el negocio con el que es más probable que su organización se conecte en el futuro.
En el lado negativo de este sondeo global, también destaca que el 70% de los profesionales encuestados todavía perciben riesgos de ciberseguridad en torno a la adopción de modelos en la nube. Y es que los ataques y grandes amenazas que se ciernen sobre la protección de las empresas han creado una gran incertidumbre en el mercado. Por eso, el 45% de los encuestados apuntan que su gran prioridad es mejorar la ciberseguridad de su organización. Por otro lado, casi la mitad de los entrevistados aseguró que la adopción de servicios basados en la nube representó uno de los dos factores principales que afectarán a su negocio en el futuro, sólo superado por los riesgos e infracciones de ciberseguridad (53%).

Los resultados también mostraron que las empresas de toda la región EMEA tienen el doble de probabilidades de conectarse con los CSP que con otros proveedores de productos o servicios. “Con la explosión del tráfico de datos a nivel mundial, es importante que las empresas puedan satisfacer su creciente necesidad de interconexión: el intercambio de datos privados entre empresas. En la era digital, las empresas necesitan escalar sus negocios a todas partes, interconectarse con partner, clientes y proveedores e integrar todo tipo de soluciones en sus organizaciones. Esta encuesta desarrollada por Equinix muestra cómo los responsables IT apostarán por nuevos modelos cloud y por la interconexión para poder ser competitivas”, afirma Ignacio Velilla, Managing Director de Equinix en España.
Multicloud
Esta encuesta también revela que sólo el 17% de las organizaciones en EMEA utilizan actualmente la arquitectura multicloud, un dato muy bajo comparado con el 56% que utiliza actualmente la nube privada y el 42% que utiliza la nube para pedir que las empresas aborden su transformación digital. Los modelos híbridos y multicloud son esenciales en la era actual de la cooperación globalizada. Es por eso por lo que las organizaciones acuden a Equinix, ya que podemos conectarlas directamente a los proveedores de servicios cloud, permitiéndoles transmitir datos a través de redes privadas dedicadas en lugar de por el Internet público.
Este intercambio privado de datos, o interconexión, reduce el riesgo de que las cargas de trabajo sean interceptadas, supervisadas y modificadas, lo que disipa las preocupaciones de seguridad. Esta es quizás la razón por la que más de tres cuartas partes (77%) de los profesionales IT encuestados consideran que la interconexión ayudará a su negocio a obtener una ventaja competitiva en el mercado del futuro».
