En los servicios de modalidad cloud cada vez serán más relevantes la inteligencia artificial y la propiedad intelectual. Asimismo, se producirá un impulso en las alianzas estratégicas entre empresas, el modelo de plataforma como servicio se confirmará como la base de la transformación digital y la ciberseguridad obtendrá por fin visibilidad en la junta directiva. Explicamos cinco predicciones sobre cómo serán los servicios cloud este ejercicio 2018.
Una mayor importancia de la inteligencia artificial
Durante 2018 se verá cómo la inteligencia artificial (IA) impulsará un cambio transformacional entre las organizaciones y el impacto que se origina en el propio uso de sus servicios cloud. El continuo desarrollo de las Tecnologías de la Información y la Comunicación (TIC) incentiva una mayor simplicidad en las mismas, constituyendo un elemento fundamental en el que las empresas se ven en la obligación de adecuarse a este nuevo paradigma tecnológico a fin de satisfacer unas demandas cada vez más exigentes por parte de sus clientes. Este aspecto impulsará la innovación en áreas como la IA, aunque la automatización de estos procesos no será suficiente para mantener los cada día más exigentes estándares de innovación que las empresas necesitan.
Durante este año, se verán grandes proyectos e iniciativas dentro de esta área que viene a establecerse como piedra angular del cambio en la automatización de las TIC. La toma de decisiones proactivas, autónomas y no humanas son ahora mismo una necesidad. Entonces, ¿habrá una mayor implementación de la tecnología robótica? Sí, aunque aún necesitamos desarrollar la propiedad intelectual para impulsarlos.
La propiedad intelectual será clave
Con el avance tecnológico como premisa clave del desarrollo actual (véase por ejemplo la inteligencia artificial), las empresas demandan cada vez más software y soluciones a medida que resuelvan problemas específicos de índole comercial. Como consecuencia, las empresas trabajan cada vez más con proveedores de servicios cloud a fin de obtener una ventaja competitiva frente a su competencia. La inversión en desarrollo de infraestructura seguirá disminuyendo y se verá reemplazada por la necesidad de soluciones específicas impulsadas por la idiosincrasia de los propios negocios, que cada día requieren software único y exclusivo para dar vida a estas soluciones requeridas.
El impulso en las alianzas estratégicas
La propiedad intelectual es la clave, aunque muchas empresas indistintamente de su índole, carecen de los recursos necesarios para el desarrollo de soluciones propias que se ajusten a sus propias necesidades. Ante esta situación, muchas empresas están optando por establecer relaciones comerciales a largo plazo con proveedores de servicios tecnológicos que entienden su necesidad y actúan en consecuencia, ya sea desarrollando propiedad intelectual específica o software que utiliza servicios de nube pública.
Ante esta situación, los proveedores de nube pública también se están viendo en la obligación de establecer alianzas con partners estratégicos con objeto de garantizar una mayor agilidad en la carga de trabajo hacia el cloud y al mismo tiempo, que les proporcionen soluciones que vayan más allá de las tradicionales Infraestructuras como Servicio (Infraestructure as a Service o IaaS) para avanzar a soluciones establecidas como Plataformas como Servicio (Platform as a Service o PaaS).
El modelo PaaS como base de la transformación digital
Cada día observamos más cómo los proveedores tecnológicos que trabajaban bajo el modelo de software como servicio (software as a Service o SaaS) avanzan hacia un modelo PaaS como respuesta a la demanda de sus clientes.
Las empresas que usan aplicaciones SaaS (véase por ejemplo el propio CRM de una empresa) necesitan extender sus plataformas a nuevos casos o demandas específicas. Aunque la implementación de este modelo de negocio ha tardado en llegar, a medida que el sector empresarial avanza hacia una estrategia basada en la nube, la complejidad que ello conlleva impulsará a las compañías a explorar el modelo de PaaS.
La ciberseguridad obtiene visibilidad en la Junta
Los servicios en la nube han sido durante estos últimos años una apuesta segura en las Sala de Juntas de las empresas, pero ante los últimos ciberataques la pregunta que se están empezando a formular viene a cuestionar si su propia información está realmente segura. La decisión de utilizar los servicios en la nube ha sido durante años relativamente fácil por parte de la Alta Dirección, cuyo empleo venía fundamentado por su bajo coste y agilidad. Ahora bien, con los últimos ataques acontecidos se está empezando a cuestionar la seguridad de la nube.
El daño que conllevan los ciberataques está ahora claramente en la línea de visión de los miembros de la Junta. Además, el nuevo Reglamento General de Protección de Datos (GDPR) generará más preguntas a este nivel, haciendo que la seguridad en la nube sea una prioridad del Consejo.
