Una encuesta, realizada por Hornetsecurity, revela que las soluciones de cloud híbrido son el objetivo a largo plazo para 2 de cada 3 empresas.
La encuesta sobre la adopción del cloud híbrido en las empresas, realizada a más de 900 profesionales de IT de América del norte y Europa, determina que la mayoría de las compañías (93%) están apostando por un modelo híbrido de soluciones on premise y en la nube, o migrarán completamente a la nube, en un periodo estimado de 5 años. La mitad de los encuestados (51%) afirmaron que estarán “principalmente en la nube” dentro de 5 años, con una o dos cargas de trabajo on premise. El 28% de los encuestados dijeron que permanecerán “principalmente on premise” con una carga de trabajo o dos en el cloud.
Mientras que el 29% de los encuestados afirman que están utilizando soluciones de cloud híbrido como un trampolín hacia un entorno cloud completo, el 67% ven el modelo híbrido como una meta final para su infraestructura, debido a que algunas cargas de trabajo deben permanecer on premise, no se pueden nubificar. El resto prevé permanecer 100% en local.
Cuando se les preguntó por qué las empresas permanecían en local, muchos de los encuestados manifestaron su preocupación sobre el control de los datos, la seguridad y los costes de la tecnología cloud.
Un 31-36% de las empresas encuestadas manifiestan esta preocupación. La encuesta de adopción en el cloud híbrido refleja los problemas de confianza de las empresas en el cloud público, sin importar el tamaño de las organizaciones.
La encuesta también refleja que cuanto mayor es el grado de experiencia de los trabajadores, se genera mayor desconfianza en el cloud público. El 34% de los encuestados con más de 20 años de experiencia manifestaba de forma más fehaciente las preocupaciones sobre la confiabilidad de las plataformas en la nube, el 24% en aquellos con 1 a 5 años de experiencia. La mitad de los encuestados mencionaron los “sistemas o software heredados” como otra razón importante por la que ciertas cargas de trabajo deben permanecer on premise, mientas que la “compatibilidad de aplicaciones” se observa como un obstáculo para la migración a la nube para 4 de cada 10 empresas.
Las regulaciones de la industria como GDPR, HIPAA y CMMC, entre otras, también aparecen como un obstáculo para la adopción de la nube para el 29% de los entrevistados.
El 48% de las empresas afirman que están reteniendo la migración completa a la nube debido a la falta de “conocimientos técnicos o personal certificado”, el 33% por dificultades con la “aplicación de las mejores prácticas dentro de la empresa, el 33% “problemas de conectividad”, y el 29% debido al “acceso seguro”.
Entre las causas más comunes por las que los departamentos de IT ven impedimentos a la hora de llevar todos sus servicios a la nube, el 55% lo atribuyen a los “servicios de impresión e imágenes”. Las bases de datos, el almacenamiento de archivos y los servicios de aplicaciones, también se citan como razones para permanecer parcialmente on premise, con un 50%, 45% y 43% de los encuestados, respectivamente.
El estudio realizado por Hornetsecurity revela que las soluciones de cloud híbrido aún presentan varios desafíos. El principal de ellos es el “monitoreo y seguridad”, con la mitad de los encuestados expresando reticencias en este punto. “Redes y conectividad” es otra de las asignaturas pendientes, compartidas por el 48% de los entrevistados. Finalmente, “capacitación y certificación”, “capacidad de administración y herramientas” y “resiliencia y recuperación de datos” se incluyen en las preocupaciones identificadas por el 35%, el 35% y el 33%, respectivamente.
El 47% de los encuestados que forman parte de los equipos internos de IT de las empresas manifestaron que ven sus cargas de trabajo “principalmente en la nube” en aproximadamente 5 años, en comparación con el 52%, cuyas empresas son usuarias de servicios MSP y el 54%, de las que trabajan en MSP. Los departamentos de IT internos reportan una falta de confianza en los servicios en la nube casi al mismo ritmo que los que usan servicios MSP, con un 34% y un 33% respectivamente.
