El gasto global en TI superará los 4.000 millones de dólares en 2021, los proyectos de software y basados en la nube representarán el 50% del presupuesto total de TI.
Aunque el Covid-19 redujo el gasto global en TI el año pasado, muchas empresas aún se vieron obligadas a aumentar sus presupuestos de TI para adaptarse a los nuevos requisitos operativos y configurar a sus empleados para que trabajen desde casa.
Según los datos presentados por AksjeBloggen.com, se espera que el gasto global en TI se recupere significativamente y supere los 4.000 millones de dólares en 2021, un 6% más que antes de la pandemia. Se prevé que los proyectos de software y alojamiento / nube representen más del 50% del presupuesto total de TI este año.
Según la encuesta de Spiceworks Ziff Davis, el año pasado, los proyectos de hardware representaron un tercio de los presupuestos de TI entre los compradores de tecnología empresarial, con diferencias según el tamaño de la empresa. Las empresas más pequeñas, que emplean entre una y 99 personas, asignaron el 35% de su presupuesto al hardware, en comparación con el 29% de las empresas con 5.000 empleados o más.
Los proyectos de software representaron el 29% del presupuesto total de TI. Los proyectos alojados / basados en la nube y los proyectos de servicios gestionados siguieron con una participación del 22% y el 15%, respectivamente.
Si bien los presupuestos de hardware seguirán teniendo la mayor participación en el gasto de TI en 2021, se espera que su participación de mercado caiga al 31% en 2021, en comparación con el 35% en 2019. Las estadísticas muestran que la mayoría de las empresas, planean gastar el 20% de sus presupuestos de hardware para la compra de computadoras portátiles este año, frente al 17% en 2020. Se espera que las equipos de escritorio y los servidores experimenten una caída en la demanda, mientras que los dispositivos de seguridad y el almacenamiento externo aumentarán ligeramente su participación en el gasto total.
El software representa la segunda categoría más grande con una participación del 29% en el gasto total en TI, lo mismo que en 2020. La encuesta también reveló que se espera que todos los productos y servicios en esta categoría mantengan la misma o aumenten su participación en el gasto total en TI. Alrededor del 12% de las empresas planean utilizar su presupuesto de software para comprar software de productividad, frente al 10% del año pasado. Las aplicaciones específicas de la industria ocuparon el segundo lugar, con una participación del 12% en el gasto total.
Las estadísticas muestran que los servicios alojados / en la nube, como la tercera categoría más grande, representarán el 24% del gasto total en TI en 2021, frente al 21% en 2019. A continuación, el gasto en servicios administrados con una participación del 16% en 2021, frente al 14% hace dos años.
El crecimiento en la categoría de la nube ha impulsado una adopción masiva de aplicaciones de productividad, almacenamiento en la nube y soluciones de comunicaciones, todas relevantes en el mundo posterior a COVID-19, donde trabajar desde casa es la nueva normalidad.
Sin embargo, las estadísticas muestran que las soluciones de respaldo y recuperación en línea y el software de productividad en línea continuarán ocupando los primeros lugares en el gasto en servicios alojados / en la nube, con una participación del 25% combinada. Le siguen el alojamiento de correo electrónico y el alojamiento web con un 9% y un 8% de participación, respectivamente.
Analizadas por industria, las empresas de servicios de TI planean asignar el 32% de su gasto total en tecnología a los presupuestos de la nube en 2021, mucho más alto que el promedio del 24% entre todas las industrias. Alrededor del 11% de sus presupuestos de nube se gastarán en infraestructura como servicio, en comparación con un promedio del 6% entre todos los sectores.
