www.TryEngineering.org is intended to serve as the ultimate resource on engineering and engineering careers. It helps visitors better understand engineering and the important part it plays in our daily lives," said Moshe Kam, Vice President of the IEEE Educational Activities Department. "Unlike other sites that concentrate on various careers, this site goes beyond a specific discipline and promotes the overall engineering profession."
The technology partner for TryEngineering.org, IBM provided project management and graphic design services. The new website is being hosted by the New York Hall of Science through a grant of technology and services from IBM. IBM also created the complementary site TryScience.org with the New York Hall of Science and many of the world’s top science museums.
"To spur innovation, we must encourage more young people to consider careers in engineering," said Stanley S. Litow, President of the IBM International Foundation and Vice President of IBM Corporate Community Relations. "TryEngineering.org is a great tool to educate students, parents and teachers, the critical influencers in students’ lives, that engineering is a creative and exciting field to pursue. The website demonstrates that careers in engineering are challenging, rewarding and fun."
