El VIII Smart Energy Congress, convertido en congreso anual europeo de referencia, es un ecosistema en el que participan todos los actores en el mundo de la tecnología y la eficiencia energética – tanto del sector privado, como público – se comparten experiencias, se aprende y se crean sinergias con un objetivo común, reducir el consumo energético.
Para el Secretario de Estado de Energía, D. José Domínguez Abascal, este congreso es una cita ineludible del sector tanto energético, como tecnológico: “Es de agradecer que se organice este evento y que se trabaje en algo que es imprescindible en la nueva energía, en el nuevo sistema energético, y es que se le dote de capacidad de discernir, de ejecutar y funcionar de distinta manera. Es decir, que se le dote de inteligencia.”
“La transición energética debe contemplar dos factores imprescindibles: el social – no se puede hacer sin el ciudadano – y una dimensión de flexibilidad e inteligencia. Las tecnologías de la información son un elemento transversal, son el pegamento que permitirá unir todas las piezas y dotar al sistema energético de flexibilidad e inteligencia. Un ejemplo del uso de las tecnologías digitales son los servicios de movilidad compartida, donde hoy se pueden gestionar desde un dispositivo móvil. La digitalización será protagonista en todos los niveles, pero especialmente en el sistema eléctrico”, ha señalado en la clausura del Congreso.
El doble reto de la Transformación digital en materia de eficiencia energética
Las nuevas tecnologías impulsadas por Cognitive Services, IoT, Artificial Intelligence, 5G, Augmented reality permiten la descarbonizacion de la economía, la reducción de costes energéticos y emisiones de CO2. Todos ellos retos de la Unión Europea y donde España ya cuenta con compañías de amplia experiencia y proyectos de alto valor tecnológico.

Sin embargo, también es necesario pensar en cómo hacer más eficientes y sostenibles las grandes infraestructuras tecnológicas (redes de comunicaciones y centros de procesamiento de datos) que de forma obligada deben desarrollarse para afrontar la digitalización y la llegada de estas tecnologías disruptivas.
Dos salas de contenido como ejes del congreso: Visión Estratégica y Visión Tecnológica
Para reflexionar sobre estos temas, el Smart Energy Congress 2019 como ejes principales dos salas de contenido, Visión Estratégica y Visión Tecnológica, con sesiones centradas en: Ciudades (Smart Cities), Industrias (Smart Industry 4.0), Energía (Smart Energy) y Grandes Infraestructuras Tecnológicas (Smart IT Infrastructure). Y enfocadas en retos, buenas prácticas y factores críticos de éxito, tendencias, oportunidades e innovación.
En las distintas mesas de la Sala Visión Estratégica participaron representantes de los Ayuntamientos de Madrid, Bilbao, Valencia y Sevilla o empresas como Acciona Service, Microsoft, Geotab, T-Systems y AEDIVE que dieron su visión sobre las tendencias en Smart Cities. En el caso de las sesiones dedicadas a Smart Energy participaron UFD – Grupo Naturgy, Iberdrola, Viesgo, Repsol E&G, Red Eléctrica de España, Endesa, Minsait, Balantia, Atos, Oracle, Engie y Enerclub. Mientras que en las mesas de Smart Industry 4.0 estuvieron presentes, entre otras, Aernnova, ITP Aero, Nissan, Bodegas Matarromera, Airbus, Atos, Ferrovial, GMV o Eplan.
En cuanto a la Sala Visión Tecnológica, en ella tuvieron lugar las sesiones enfocadas en IT Infraestructures con Mobile World Capital, Intel, Ericsson, Vodafone, Naturgy, Repsol y Amazon Web Services; y las de Smart Data Centercon Schneider Electric, Rittal, Software Greenhouse, Naturgy, la UPM (Universidad Politécnica de Madrid), Aquads y Pue Control. La agenda también incluyó dos sesiones de Industrial Cognitive Services donde participaron Iberdrola, Galp, Naturgy, Enagás, Engie, Viesgo, T-Systems, Tecnatom, Amplía, CIC Consulting Informático o Balantia; así como una mesa redonda sobre Grandes Infraestructuras a la vanguardia de la tecnología con Telefónica, ADIF, Acciona Energía, Vertiv o Minsait.
Un congreso y una Plataforma en crecimiento
El VIII Smart Energy Congress acogió como es habitual la Zona Expo, un ecosistema de proveedores especializados en soluciones para mejorar la eficiencia en los Centros de Datos Corporativos y donde se celebró el Programa Speaker Corners en el que participaron responsables de Balantia, Bjumper, Atos, Aluzina, CDTI, EVBox, Cofrico, Experis IT, Everis, Delta, Deepki, Schneider Electric, TomTom Telematics, o Sylvania entre otros.
El creciente interés por la eficiencia energética y la sostenibilidad se ha reflejado, tanto en el aumento en el número de expositores, como de asistentes, más del 18% respecto a la pasada edición. Además, crece también el número de empresas asociadas a la Plataforma enerTIC, de la que forman parte ya un total de 65 compañías. Entre sus asociados hay grandes energéticas, operadores, universidades y fabricantes IT.
