Sólo el 48% de los CISO españoles encuestados considera que el error humano es la mayor vulnerabilidad de su organización, frente al 56% de los encuestados en todo el mundo.
Proofpoint ha publicado su informe anual Voice of the CISO, que analiza los principales retos a los que se enfrentan los directores de seguridad de la información (CISO). El estudio pone de manifiesto que los CISOs españoles tienen más confianza en su postura de ciberseguridad que el año pasado: después de dos años de perturbaciones sin precedentes, los CISO españoles sienten ahora que tienen más control sobre su entorno. Sólo uno de cada tres encuestados (31%) considera que su organización está en riesgo de sufrir un ciberataque en los próximos 12 meses, frente al 50% del año pasado. La media mundial, sin embargo, se sitúa en el 48%.
Pero sentirse preparado para un ciberataque es muy diferente a estarlo. Esta creciente confianza de los CISOs es probablemente el resultado de haber superado con éxito un evento sísmico (la pandemia) más que cualquier cambio tangible en los niveles de preparación frente a los riesgos. El informe revela que el 50% de los CISOs globales todavía sienten que su organización no está preparada para manejar un ciberataque y el 56% considera que el error humano es su mayor vulnerabilidad. En España, la preparación de las organizaciones ha mejorado ligeramente, pero sigue siendo una preocupación clave. Mientras que el 53% de los CISO españoles creían que no estaban preparados para frenar un ataque dirigido en 2021, esta cifra se ha reducido al 49% este año.
El informe Voice of the CISO de este año profundiza en las respuestas de 1.400 CISOs de organizaciones de tamaño medio a grande de diferentes sectores, realizada por una entidad independiente. A lo largo del primer trimestre de 2022, se entrevistó a un centenar de CISOs de cada uno de los siguientes 14 países: Estados Unidos, Canadá, Reino Unido, Francia, Alemania, Italia, España, Suecia, Países Bajos, Emiratos Árabes Unidos, Australia, Japón y Singapur.
La investigación aborda tres áreas clave: el riesgo de amenazas y los tipos de ciberataques que combaten los CISOs a diario; los niveles de preparación de los empleados y de las organizaciones que se enfrentan a los ataques; y el impacto de dar soporte a una forma de trabajo híbrida al tiempo que las empresas se preparan para reabrir sus oficinas. También descubre los retos que experimentan los CISOs en sus funciones, su posición en los consejos de adminstración y las expectativas empresariales de sus equipos.
“Mientras que los ataques de alto perfil interrumpieron las cadenas de suministro, fueron noticia y dieron lugar a una nueva legislación en materia de ciberseguridad, 2021 resultó ser otro momento difícil para los CISO de todo el mundo. Pero a medida que los CISOs se adaptan a las nuevas formas de trabajo, es alentador ver que ahora parecen estar más seguros de su postura de seguridad”, comenta Andrew Rose, CISO residente de Proofpoint para EMEA. “A medida que se desvanece el impacto de la pandemia en los equipos de seguridad, nuestro informe de 2022 descubre un problema acuciante. La reactivación del mercado laboral y los cambios de trabajo hacen que los equipos de seguridad estén gestionando ahora una gran cantidad de vulnerabilidades relacionadas con la protección de la información y las amenazas internas”.
