Esto significa, según corrobora el informe TIC Monitor correspondiente a febrero, que las TIC españolas están en una puntuación de +56,2 puntos en una escala de ‐100 a +100, superando en un 133% al Indicador de clima empresarial del sector de servicios TIC en la Unión Europea, que se queda en el +24,1.
Este buen tono se aprecia en la evolución de la cifra interanual de negocio, que aun por debajo del récord de enero se mantiene en un más que notable crecimiento del +7%, lo que, en términos desestacionalizados, se eleva al +8,3%: más de 2 puntos por encima del registrado por el sector servicios en su conjunto (+6,1%).
Para Antonio Rueda, profesor del Departamento de Estructura Económica y Economía del Desarrollo de la UAM y responsable de este barómetro que VASS realiza mensualmente en colaboración con CEPREDE, estos datos reafirman el papel protagonista de las TIC españolas en el crecimiento de la economía nacional. “Con todas las incógnitas que rodean las nuevas previsiones económicas, parece claro que estas empresas no sólo están transformando el tejido productivo del país sino que, además, están reivindicándose como un sector de vanguardia, ya que lideran el crecimiento en actividad y también en empleo especializado y estable”, recalca.
Precisamente respecto al empleo, esta nueva entrega de TIC Monitor sigue demostrando que, mientras otros sectores viven su particular reconversión (la industria o la banca, por ejemplo), las tecnologías de la información y la comunicación no interrumpen su constante tendencia alcista. La contratación de talento especializado en esta área registra una subida interanual del +5,5%, es decir, más del doble del promedio de crecimiento tendencial de empleo en las actividades del sector servicios (+2,3%).
Por si fuera poco, las perspectivas a corto plazo en la creación de empleo son mejores incluso que las de enero, pasando de +33 a +56 (en una escala -100/ +100), que equivale a decir que el 78% de las empresas del sector cree que incrementará su contratación en el próximo trimestre.
En este clima propicio de desarrollo TIC, existe sin embargo un problema constante que TIC Monitor lleva meses difundiendo: la escasez de talento especializado para cubrir la demanda de la economía española.
Según advierte Antonio Rueda, hay casi 30.000 empresas buscando perfiles informáticos en el mercado, pero poco más de 6.500 egresados universitarios cada año en las disciplinas de informática (Grado y Máster) y unos 16.000 titulados en Formación Profesional de Grado Medio y Superior. “Haciendo unos números rápidos: si el subsector de servicios TIC emplea a 571.000 trabajadores, de los cuales podemos pensar que alrededor del 80% tiene un perfil técnico cualificado (unos 455.000), y hay crecimientos interanuales de contratación del 6%, eso significa que no menos de 27.000 nuevos profesionales al año tendrían garantizado un buen empleo solamente en este ámbito de actividad, en el que operan más de 17.000 compañías consolidadas”, explica.
Pero a esto hay que sumar que, en España, existen “no menos de 11.000 compañías (banca, seguros, energía, turismo, construcción, industrial, retail…) que, fuera del sector TIC, necesitan también perfiles informáticos, por lo que el déficit de talento está servido si no hacemos nada por solucionarlo”.
