Dell Technologies y VMware han presentado los resultados del estudio de IDC “Preparados para el Futuro del Trabajo”, que se centra en la adopción de las últimas innovaciones tecnológicas en las empresas europeas. Los resultados revelan que solo el 29% de las organizaciones europeas han establecido con éxito una estrategia para el futuro del trabajo, un enfoque holístico e integrado para dotar a la empresa y a sus trabajadores con las últimas innovaciones.
La encuesta se realizó entre empleados a tiempo completo de pequeñas, medianas y grandes empresas de España, Francia, Alemania, Italia, Polonia, República Checa y Reino Unido.
Entre las compañías españolas identificadas como “organizaciones comprometidas por el futuro del trabajo” (FDOs por sus siglas en inglés, “Future of Work Determined Organisations”), la principal iniciativa actualmente en curso (56%) es la implementación de programas para que los empleados actualicen sus habilidades digitales. La media de los países europeos encuestados se sitúa en el 50%.
Casi la mitad de las FDOs españolas (48%) considera la productividad de los empleados como el factor impulsor de la transformación del puesto de trabajo. Los resultados del resto de los países encuestados están en línea con los de España.
Sin embargo, impulsar el futuro del trabajo no consiste solo en mejorar las habilidades digitales, sino también el propio entorno de trabajo. El 43% de las empresas españolas encuestadas afirma que en su empresa el rediseño del espacio para lograr un trabajo más productivo forma parte de un programa integral que se está llevando a cabo actualmente. Francia es el país más avanzado en este aspecto, ya que más de la mitad de las organizaciones están llevando a cabo esta renovación.
Las formas de organizar el trabajo han seguido evolucionando; las FDOs europeas lo han entendido y se están adaptando. El 43% de las empresas españolas ha creado políticas de seguridad que aportan beneficios a la organización del trabajo, como por ejemplo la flexibilidad horaria y el teletrabajo. El Reino Unido está a la cabeza, ya que dos tercios de las empresas con sede en Gran Bretaña están haciendo esfuerzos para adaptarse a las necesidades siempre cambiantes de la fuerza laboral europea.
“Hay empresas que han adoptado un enfoque holístico del futuro del trabajo y su éxito demuestra la importancia de este enfoque para la fuerza laboral de hoy. Las empresas europeas deben considerar cada vez más esta estrategia”, afirma Therese Cooney, vicepresidente senior de la división Client Solutions Group de Dell Technologies. «El futuro del trabajo no debe evolucionar para satisfacer únicamente las necesidades de las organizaciones, sino también de las personas que forman parte de esa organización. Debemos dotar a los empleados con las habilidades digitales, la tecnología y las salvaguardas de seguridad necesarias en un entorno que les ayude a prosperar y a tener éxito con una mejor colaboración, productividad y flexibilidad”.
Aspectos destacados del estudio
• La seguridad ha sido un aspecto fundamental para las empresas europeasdebido a legislaciones como el Reglamento General de Protección de Datos (GDPR). Un 43% de las empresas españolas afirman que la seguridad y la gestión son los mayores desafíos para la innovación en el puesto de trabajo. Más de un tercio de las empresas europeas encuestadas coinciden con esta afirmación.
• En España, un 34% de las organizaciones asegura que los sistemas de TI redundantes afectan a la integración de las nuevas tecnologías, un porcentaje en línea con el resto de los países europeos.
• La actual brecha generacional es un factor que contribuye en toda Europa al retraso en la creación del puesto de trabajo del futuro. En las empresas europeas, un 35% de sus empleados son de la generación X, un 38% de la generación Y, y un 7% de la generación Z. Debido a esta combinación, los conflictos intergeneracionales y las expectativas de trabajo multigeneracional (29%) son uno de los factores más comunes que afectan a las tasas de adopción. En España este porcentaje se eleva al 38%.
• Las tecnologías inteligentes automatizan las tareas y permiten a los trabajadores aprovechar todo su potencial. Las FDOs españolas han entendido esta idea: un 50% han implementado asistentes digitales inteligentes y casi una cuarta parte está o tiene previsto utilizar funciones de back-office habilitadas para IA. Si bien estas tecnologías pueden implicar que los trabajadores tendrán que actualizarse y adaptarse, estos servicios de capacitación pueden llevarse a cabo a través de herramientas en línea en diversos medios (móviles, videos, etc.) o incluso a través de interacciones entre usuarios/trabajadores.

• La flexibilidad en el trabajo es la piedra angular para muchos trabajadores, ya que proporciona el tan necesario equilibrio entre vida laboral y personal a través de la innovación tecnológica. Más de la mitad de las compañías españolas encuestadas esperan que estas medidas de flexibilidad ayuden a la mejora de la productividad y a una mayor satisfacción de sus empleados.
• Las FDOs seguirán acometiendo actualizaciones tecnológicas para mejorar el trabajo de sus empleados. Las plataformas basadas en la nube, el software de seguridad móvil y el acceso a herramientas desde dispositivos móviles son iniciativas fundamentales para fomentar la productividad de los empleados según las organizaciones españolas. Los numerosos beneficios de las plataformas basadas en la nube pueden ayudar a simplificar la administración de dispositivos y el nivel de escalabilidad de las empresas.
