Teradata ha elaborado un nuevo estudio llamado “El estado de la Analítica en la nube” que revela que el 83% de las compañías está de acuerdo al señalar la nube como el lugar óptimo para gestionar la analítica. En los próximos cinco años, la mayoría de las empresas querrán que esta adopción se haga realidad, aunque aproximadamente un 91% asegura que la transición a la nube pública debería ser más ágil.
¿Cuál es el problema? Según las empresas encuestadas, las barreras principales para la adopción de la analítica en la nube son: la falta de Seguridad (50%), el bajo rendimiento de las tecnologías disponibles (49%), el cumplimiento normativo (35%) y la falta de confianza (32%). Además, otros de los problemas se centran en la integración de la tecnología y el talento: 30% está luchando para conectar los sistemas con aplicaciones en la nube, mientras que el 29% de los encuestados señala como una de las barreras la falta de formación interna.
“Los resultados son claros: el mercado avanza hacia la analítica en la nube, pero muchos de los actuales motores de analítica que están exclusivamente en el cloud carecen de la potencia o la velocidad para manejar las cargas de trabajo de analíticas a escala empresarial”, asegura Martyn Etherington, Chief Marketing Officer de Teradata. “De hecho, la barrera en el rendimiento aumenta más todavía para las compañías más grandes. Según la encuesta el 63% de las organizaciones con ingresos superiores a los 10.000 millones de dólares consideran que la tecnología disponible es inmadura, comparado con el 41% de las empresas con ingresos entre 250 – 500 millones. Ante tal preocupación, es fácil comprobar cómo Teradata destaca por sus sofisticados entornos analíticos en la nube, capaces de gestionar cientos de terabytes y miles usuarios que ejecutan millones de consultas al día”.
La encuesta también desvela que las grandes organizaciones están madurando en lo relativo al uso de analítica, una de cada tres utiliza Deep Learning y Machine Learning para potenciar la inteligencia artificial (IA). Estás compañías también tiene experiencia en el uso de la nube, de hecho, un tercio de ellas está adoptando actualmente la nube pública en su organización.
Los encuestados usan Business Intelligence, localización y extracción de datos y se están moviendo rápidamente hacia la analítica avanzada como la que se basa en Inteligencia Artificial impulsada por aprendizaje automático y aprendizaje profundo, independientemente del tipo de implantación. Sin embargo, en vistas a la aplicación para los próximos 12 meses, el porcentaje de adaptación aumenta significativamente:
• Una de cada tres empresas utiliza Deep Learning o Machine Learning para potenciar la Inteligencia Artificial, pero la cifra aumenta al 68% al incluir las compañías que planean adoptar tecnologías de inteligencia artificial en los próximos 12 meses.
• Casi la mitad está utilizando la extracción de datos, pero el porcentaje aumenta en tres cuartas partes cuando se incluyen las empresas que prevén usar en los próximos 12 meses el análisis de marketing (77%) y ventas (76%).
• El 81% de las compañías ya están utilizando o planean utilizar la analítica orientada a servició al cliente en el próximo año. Además, un 77% de las empresas encuestadas prevén aplicar la analítica para marketing y un 76% para ventas en los próximos 12 meses.
