En 2023, las organizaciones españolas continúan priorizando los modelos operativos en la nube como parte central de sus esfuerzos de transformación digital. Un estudio reciente de IDC España, respaldado por Evolutio, proyecta que la inversión en infraestructura digital en España superará los 3.800 millones de euros en 2026. En comparación con otros países europeos, España lidera con 10 puntos por encima de la media en el uso de arquitecturas de nube híbrida, anticipando que la infraestructura como servicio representará el 39% del mercado nacional en tres años.
Esta preferencia por las infraestructuras digitales radica en su papel fundamental para abordar la modernización de TI, alineando operaciones y modelos de financiación con los objetivos comerciales digitales clave y generando nuevas oportunidades de negocio. IDC pronostica que para 2026, el 65% de los compradores de tecnología darán prioridad a modelos de consumo “as-a-service” para adquisiciones de infraestructura, con el objetivo de contener el crecimiento del gasto en TI y abordar la escasez de talento en el sector.
Un desafío principal para las empresas es la gestión de grandes cantidades de datos, ya que se espera que la generación de datos en los próximos cinco años sea al menos el doble que en la última década. Se prevé que el 70% de estos datos sean consumidos por empresas en 2026, en comparación con el 50% en 2016. Como resultado, las empresas están trasladando sus cargas de trabajo de entornos on-premise a la nube pública y explorando diversas opciones de nube, como pública, privada, híbrida, multinube o contenedores, según sus requisitos operativos y regulatorios.
“Las ventajas de la nube híbrida, en el contexto de incertidumbre actual, permiten a las empresas y organismos públicos incorporar resiliencia y agilidad a sus procesos y operaciones, mejorando su planificación y adquiriendo todas las capacidades necesarias para afrontar distintos escenarios, incluyendo disrupciones que afecten a sus procesos más críticos”, afirma Mario Reiter, Chief Sales & Marketing Officer en Evolutio.
La gestión de la nube híbrida se ha convertido en un área de inversión muy importante para las organizaciones españolas. Nuestro país, según el estudio “Technology Spotlight: almacenamiento digital como habilitador de la competitividad de las organizaciones” se sitúa 10 puntos por encima de la media europea en el despliegue de arquitecturas de nube híbrida. De este modo, para las compañías es fundamental lograr una política de gestión de costes en la nube que esté alineada con sus estrategias empresariales, es por ello que la implementación de capacidades FinOps y CloudOps se ha vuelto muy importante. Estas capacidades de gestión de la nube ayudan a brindar una optimización de costes, disponibilidad, flexibilidad, seguridad unificada, gestión basada en políticas, movilidad de los datos y excelencia operativa. En relación con esto, el control de costes es fundamental para mantener el crecimiento de la organización, especialmente cuando se trata de generar la resiliencia que permite gestionar tiempos de incertidumbre como los actuales.
Por estas razones, la cloud híbrida está siendo predominante en las organizaciones, porque justamente ayuda a abordar esas necesidades.
En este contexto, las empresas están acelerando el desarrollo de estrategias que optimicen las experiencias del cliente en entornos seguros y potencien los ecosistemas digitales que facilitan la conexión con partners y que generan valor al conjunto. De hecho, para 2024, IDC estima que el 40% de las aplicaciones empresariales digitales dependerán de la transferencia de datos entre proveedores garantizada contractualmente y de acuerdos de intercambio de datos operativos o financieros entre nubes públicas y socios tecnológicos on-prem.
A todo esto, hay que sumarle la presión de los diferentes actores, ya que inversores, empleados, comunidades y reguladores empujan a las compañías a tomar medidas significativas sobre los problemas de sostenibilidad. En este sentido, la infraestructura digital y cloud desempeñan un papel clave para abordar estas preocupaciones y ayudar a crear valor empresarial sostenible.
En los próximos años, el almacenamiento se posiciona como un pilar clave para las estrategias digitales de las empresas, siendo percibido como un habilitador más que una barrera. El 65% de las organizaciones planea aumentar sus inversiones en almacenamiento en 2023. Estas inversiones buscan mejorar la seguridad de los datos, proporcionar acceso flexible y escalable al almacenamiento, reducir costos y aumentar la eficiencia operativa, generando ventajas competitivas a largo plazo.
El auge de aplicaciones basadas en contenedores en la infraestructura de nube híbrida ha brindado mayor flexibilidad y eficiencia en el despliegue y gestión de aplicaciones en entornos distribuidos. La contenerización permite a los desarrolladores crear e implementar aplicaciones de manera ágil, influyendo significativamente en las decisiones de almacenamiento. Se estima que más de la mitad de las cargas de trabajo de las organizaciones se ejecutarán en contenedores en el próximo año, según el estudio.
IDC concluye que el enfoque preferido para la infraestructura de almacenamiento es el Multi-cloud híbrido, generando una creciente demanda de mejoras continuas en los sistemas de administración de nubes múltiples. Esto busca ayudar a las empresas a supervisar, mantener y unificar sus entornos de almacenamiento, incluso cuando están geográficamente distribuidos en lugares remotos.
