No son pocas las empresas que apuestan por que 2022 sea el año de la Inteligencia Artificial (IA) por su papel clave en el aumento de la productividad y el crecimiento de las organizaciones. Analizamos, de mano de expertos de la industria, las principales tendencias al respecto.
Según un estudio llevado a cabo por Accenture, se estima que para 2035 aquellas compañías que incorporen la IA a su modelo de negocio verán un incremento de beneficios en torno al 38%, que no es poco. Eso habla de la importancia que tiene —y va a tener— la inteligencia artificial en el negocio de las empresas tanto en el presente como en los próximos años.
De presente y futuro, como destaca Juan Chichilla, director de la Unidad de Negocio de Business Applications de Microsoft en España, para quien “el futuro de la IA es prometedor, y la industria se está moviendo para obtener el máximo beneficio de esta herramienta de un modo responsable”.
Él mismo pone ejemplos de empresas que ya han adoptado estas tecnologías, tales como Prosegur, “que ha adoptado Dynamics 365 for Sales como solución CRM para potenciar su estrategia digital a nivel global y crear engagement con el cliente gracias a sus funcionalidades basadas en Inteligencia Artificial”, explica; el del Grupo Konecta, “que con Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations como solución ERP ha simplificado procesos y adquirido una visión integral de su negocio, con métricas predictivas mediante IA que permiten tomar mejores decisiones”; o incluso el de Nueva Pescanova, “que utiliza los servicios cloud, IoT (Internet de las Cosas) e inteligencia artificial de Microsoft como solución genérica para controlar sus procesos de forma automática, mejorando la eficiencia y sostenibilidad de sus procesos de acuicultura, incentivando la predictibilidad del negocio y garantizando la trazabilidad alimentaria”, prosigue detallando el director de la Unidad de Negocio de Business Applications de Microsoft en España.
La industria en general tiene claro que la IA es fundamental en el camino de las organizaciones en esta transformación digital. “La combinación de la inteligencia humana con la artificial aporta y ayuda a trabajar mejor; de manera más inteligente, con mayor eficiencia y menos errores”, concreta Rafael Herranz, director general de la división de ISG en Lenovo Iberia.
Primero, por las posibilidades que ofrece la IA, que son prácticamente infinitas; y en su mayoría, están por explorar o por desarrollar de manera mucho más amplia y decidida. Segundo, porque ningún sector ha obviado su llegada. Prácticamente todos comienzan a introducir la IA en sus dinámicas: desde el retail hasta las grandes industrias, pasando por la investigación, medicina, geología, meteorología, ganadería, agricultura, artes, entretenimiento, deportes… Se puede decir ya que casi cualquier actividad humana cuenta con aplicaciones de inteligencia artificial dentro de sus procesos que aportan les beneficios y ventajas frente a sus competidores.
Las empresas no cesan de generar toneladas de datos día tras día, que son un activo muy importante para ellas, pero no demasiado explotados de manera general. “Mediante las nuevas tecnologías, podemos sacar patrones que de otra manera permanecerían ocultos debido a la enorme cantidad de información a manejar, en caso de detectarlos de forma manual”, detalla Susana Durán, vicepresidenta de ingeniería en Sage. Información adicional o metadata que permitirá a las empresas detectar relaciones entre clientes o proveedores, ofrecer servicios que antes no hubieran sido posibles o, incluso, evitar problemas financieros con consecuencias catastróficas”, explica.
Eso es lo que lleva a muchos especialistas del mercado a concluir que 2022 será el año de la inteligencia artificial. Lo que lleva a José Ventura Martínez, data & Artificial intelligence tech sales de IBM, a afirmar que la “IA va a mejorar el rendimiento de la mayoría de las empresas de manera exponencial, ya que una gran parte de los avances que se están produciendo en esta tecnología van en esa línea. Sin embargo, será imprescindible contar con personas con las skills necesarias para desarrollar ese conocimiento y saber cómo implementarlo en las distintas áreas de negocio de la organización.
Este mismo especialista pone ejemplos de su aplicación tales como “asistentes virtuales capaces de proporcionar información al usuario y realizar todo tipo de tareas; sistemas capaces de detectar cuándo y por qué se dará un cliente de baja; buscadores inteligentes que permitan obtener rápidamente cualquier información dentro de todo el sistema documental de la organización o sistemas capaces de mostrar visual e interactivamente KPI importantes dentro de la organización de manera inteligente, para poder tomar decisiones de negocio mucho más ágil”.
Sin embargo, hay peros para tener en cuenta a la hora de implementar la inteligencia artificial en cualquier empresa. El primero lo analiza Juan Chinchilla, de Microsoft: “Es importante tener en cuenta las condiciones necesarias para que una empresa sea capaz de sacar todo el potencial de la IA son varias: tener una estrategia bien definida y consistente con los principios de la compañía o sector de actividad; cambiar la cultura empresarial y liderazgo para asumir esta apuesta por la innovación; ser capaz de buscar socios innovadores que permitan eliminar las barreras tecnológicas; y ganar confianza para la adopción de esta tecnología”.
El segundo pero es, como aporta ahora José Ventura Martínez, es que será imprescindible contar con personas con las skills necesarias para desarrollar ese conocimiento y saber cómo implementarlo en las distintas áreas de negocio de la organización.
