Si Gartner prevé que este 2018 se cierre con un gasto global en TI de 3,7 billones de dólares, para 2019 las previsiones de la firma de análisis vuelven a ser de ligero crecimiento, en concreto un 3,2%, alcanzando una cifra de 3,8 billones de dólares.
En este crecimiento tendrá un destacado papel el software empresarial, cuya facturación aumentará, siempre según la consultora, un 8,3%, seguida de los servicios de TI, con un crecimiento del 4,7%, de los dispositivos (2,4%), los sistemas de centros de datos (1,6%) y los servicios de comunicaciones (1,2%). Claro que si hablamos de volumen de ingresos liderarán el ranking los servicios de comunicaciones (1.442 millones de dólares), seguidos de los servicios de TI (1.034 millones), los dispositivos (706 millones), el software empresarial (439 millones) y los sistemas de centros de datos (195 millones).
Auge del software como servicio
Desde la consultora apuntan que el software como servicio está impulsando el crecimiento en casi todos los segmentos de software, pero en especial en el área de CRM (para gestión de clientes). Además, el software en la nube crecerá más del 22% frente al 6% previsto para todas las demás formas de software.
Aunque son las aplicaciones tradicionales básicas, como el ERP, el CRM y las relacionadas con la cadena de suministro, las que siguen recibiendo la mayor parte de la inversión, la seguridad y la privacidad captan especial interés y lo previsto es que aumente el gasto en este mercado. De hecho, el 88% de los CIO de todo el mundo encuestados por la consultora aseveran haber desplegado software de ciberseguridad o estar planeando hacerlo en los próximos 12 meses.
Servicios de TI, un mercado de más de 1.000 millones de dólares
Varios factores como una ralentización global de la economía junto a las presiones internas en las organizaciones para recortar el gasto están impulsando a éstas a destinar más dinero a servicios como la consultoría. Por ello los servicios de TI serán especialmente importantes para el gasto en TI en 2019. Es más, se espera que este mercado alcance más de 1.000 millones de dólares en 2019, un 4,7% más frente al montante previsto para este 2018.
El mercado de servidores caerá pero el de PC se mantiene
En lo que respecta a los sistemas de centros de datos, Gartner vaticina una nueva caída del mercado de servidores en 2019 de entre un 1% y un 3% que continuará en el próximo lustro. Un aspecto que repercutirá en el gasto general en sistemas de centros de datos, que se reducirá al 1,6% en 2019.
Unos datos muy diferentes a los previstos para este 2018 para el que la consultora apunta un incremento del 6%, impulsado por el auge del mercado de servidores que experimentó un crecimiento del gasto de más del 10% en 2017 y volcerá a crecer este ejercicio un 5,7%.
En cuanto al último segmento analizado por Gartner, el de dispositivos, que engloba PC, tabletas y teléfonos móviles, las expectativas pasan por un crecimiento del 2,4% en 2019, hasta alcanzar los 706.000 millones de dólares, frente a los 689.000 millones de dólares en 2018. Gartner recuerda que la demanda de ordenadores en el sector corporativo ha sido fuerte este año, impulsada por las actualizaciones de hardware de Windows 10 que deberían continuar hasta 2020. No obstante, alerta de que este mercado puede verse afectado por la escasez de CPU Intel.
En todo caso, aunque esta escasez tendrá algunos impactos a corto plazo, la firma de análisis no espera ningún impacto duradero en la demanda general de ordenadores. Espera que la escasez continúe en 2019, aunque Intel dará prioridad a las CPU de gama alta y alas de los ordenadores de empresas. Otro gran fabricante de procesadores como AMD recuperará la parte del mercado en la que Intel no puede suministrar CPU.
