NTT Communications Corporation ha publicado un estudio sobre cómo las empresas europeas están planificando el despliegue de entornos de nube híbrida y lo que significa para los proveedores de servicios. Actualmente, las grandes empresas gestionan sus entornos cloud de diferentes modos, pero solo el 16% de ellas se plantea el uso de un solo tipo de cloud para todas sus necesidades. Más del 80% están llevando a cabo sus cargas de trabajo combinando diferentes tipos de cloud, pero sin una total integración entre ellos. Este modelo multi-cloud es el habitual en sus infraestructuras de TI. La adopción de la nube híbrida supone un paso más, a través de la creación de entornos con un alto grado de interoperabilidad y gestión integrada.
El estudio, bajo el título “Pan-European Hybrid Cloud Report”, ha sido encargado por NTT Com y Dell EMC, y realizado por la consultora 451 Research en 14 países europeos, ha encuestado a 1.500 CIOs y responsables de IT de grandes empresas en sectores clave, incluyendo banca y seguros, industria, retail, servicios profesionales, distribución y logística. El informe revela que casi dos tercios de las grandes compañías tienen una estrategia de cloud híbrido.
El 84% de las empresas encuestadas utiliza actualmente entornos multi-cloud en base a su velocidad, coste y agilidad. La adopción de entornos de cloud híbrido es la opción preferida. En torno al 63% ya cuenta con una estrategia en firme o piloto para desplegar una nube híbrida. Entre las ventajas que se pueden apreciar se incluyen un despliegue más rápido, agilidad del negocio mejorada y reducción de costes. Migrar las cargas de trabajo de sistemas legacy desde sus entornos actuales “tal como están” o “después de refactorizar” registra la mayor proporción (44%) de las implementaciones en el cloud privado.
La seguridad de los datos, la privacidad y las obligaciones regulatorias, incluyendo todo lo referente al Reglamento General de Protección de Datos (GDPR) de la Unión Europea, van a determinar la ubicación de los datos en el cloud híbrido, y el 45% de las empresas identifica la seguridad y el cumplimiento como aspectos esenciales en sus estrategias de cloud híbrido. Alrededor del 23% de las empresas encuestadas consideran la migración, la puesta en marcha y la gestión de las cargas de trabajo en la nube como servicios de cloud híbrido para los que buscarían el apoyo de terceros.
Seguridad gestionada, networking y servicios de valor añadido son los tres aspectos clave que consideran para abordar los desafíos que suponen las infraestructuras híbridas en materia de identidad, conectividad y cumplimiento.En torno a un 48% de las grandes compañías y multinacionales utilizarán el cloud híbrido de Azure para complementar sus entornos legacy existentes, o bien como vía de entrada para transformarlos en un modelo de “IT como servicio”, con la ayuda de proveedores de servicios.
