Así lo expresó Ricardo Labarga, director general de Dell EMC Commercial Business en España quien, en compañía de Isabel Reis, directora general de Dell EMC Enterprise Business en España y Portugal, compartieron con los medios de comunicación las conclusiones del Digital Transformation Index (“DT Index”), un estudio de Dell Technologies realizado con la colaboración de Intel.
Según éste, el 70% de las empresas españolas ya está invirtiendo en tecnologías para la transformación digital. El DT Index analiza la evolución de la transformación digital en medianas y grandes empresas, así como las esperanzas y temores de los líderes empresariales con respecto a este proceso. El estudio revela que el 92% de los directivos en España cree que sus organizaciones tendrán que realizar un gran esfuerzo para ser capaces de satisfacer las cambiantes demandas de sus clientes durante los próximos cinco años.
Tal y como se expuso, los resultados del DT Index se basan en la percepción que tienen las empresas de su avance en las siguientes áreas: cumplimiento de los elementos principales de un negocio digital**, estrategia de TI existente, estrategia de transformación de la fuerza de trabajo e inversiones planificadas.
Dos años después de la publicación del primer DT Index en 2016, Dell Technologies e Intel han aumentado el alcance de la investigación de 16 a 42 países, con un total de 4.600 empresas consultadas.
Según los datos del DT Index, el 28% de las empresas españolas se encuentra en los grupos inferiores de la tabla, lo que significa que no están avanzando con suficiente rapidez o que ni siquiera disponen de un plan para afrontar la digitalización de sus negocios.
Barreras en la transformación digital
Según el estudio, la gran mayoría (94%) de las empresas españolas está encontrando dificultades al avanzar en sus procesos de transformación digital.
Las cinco principales barreras son, según los encuestados:
La privacidad de los datos y los problemas de ciberseguridad
La regulación y los cambios legislativos
Falta de presupuesto y de recursos
Cultura digital inmadura: falta de alineación y colaboración entre los distintos departamentos de la empresa
Exceso de información sobre el asunto y un entorno informático fragmentado o aislado
Estas barreras están obstaculizando los esfuerzos de transformación digital. Por ejemplo, el 85% de los líderes empresariales de España cree que la transformación digital debería estar más extendida a lo largo de toda la organización. A pesar de ello, el 72% de los encuestados cree que sus empresas serán disruptivas y no se quedarán atrás.
“Durante muchos años hemos estado hablado sobre la próxima era digital. Ese momento ya ha pasado”, afirmó Isabel Reis, directora general de Dell EMC Enterprise Business en España y Portugal. “La próxima era digital ya ha llegado y está cambiando la forma en que vivimos, trabajamos y hacemos negocios. La verdadera transformación debe suceder ahora, y debe ser radical”.
El estudio indica que las empresas están tomando medidas para superar los obstáculos y para afrontar la amenaza real de ser superadas por otros competidores más ágiles e innovadores:
El 48% de las empresas españolas están utilizando tecnologías digitales para acelerar el desarrollo de nuevos productos/servicios.
El 57% están implementando seguridad y privacidad en todos sus dispositivos, aplicaciones y algoritmos.
El 45% está esforzándose en incorporar las habilidades y la experiencia necesarias a la empresa, poniendo en marcha, por ejemplo, iniciativas de formación para empleados.
En el 48% de las organizaciones, los distintos departamentos están compartiendo conocimiento, dotando a los perfiles técnicos con habilidades empresariales y a los perfiles de negocio con habilidades de tecnología.
Las empresas también están recurriendo a las tecnologías emergentes y a la ciberseguridad para impulsar y asegurar su transformación.
Inversiones previstas en el plazo de uno a tres años:
El 58% de las empresas españolas pretende invertir en ciberseguridad.
El 48% pretende invertir en multi-cloud.
El 44% invertirá en tecnologías IoT
El 40% de las empresas españolas pretende invertir en Inteligencia Artificial.
El 33% invertirá en tecnologías de almacenamiento de datos Flash.
El 42% de las organizaciones españolas invertirá en tecnología enfocada al diseño de centros de datos y la optimización de cargas de trabajo.
Un significativo número de empresas tienen previsto experimentar con tecnologías emergentes. Así, un 15% dice que invertirá en Blockchain; el 18% en computación cuántica y el 28% en Realidad Aumentada y Realidad Virtual.
“Es un momento emocionante para el mundo empresarial. Estamos en un tiempo clave en el que la tecnología, los negocios y la humanidad se encuentran para crear un mundo mejor y más conectado”, puso de relieve Ricardo Labarga para concluir: “Sin embargo, solo las organizaciones centradas en la tecnología obtendrán los beneficios que ofrece el modelo de negocio digital, incluidas la capacidad de cambiar con rapidez, automatizar procesos y satisfacer las necesidades de sus clientes. Por esta razón, la transformación digital debe ser una prioridad”.
