2020 ha acelerado la transformación digital tanto en el ámbito profesional como en el personal. La pandemia de la covid-19 obligó a confinar a la población y garantizar la continuidad de negocio pasaba por la digitalización de las empresas. Un proceso que para las pequeñas y medianas empresas ha supuesto todo un desafío. Para José Ramón Padrón, country manager de SiteGround, “2020 ha sido una verdadera prueba que ha permitido comprobar la permeabilidad y la adaptación de muchas organizaciones al cambio”. El directivo asegura que “la carrera de la digitalización ha comenzado de forma masiva”. Un inicio que ya se nota en las cifras de la compañía, “hemos podido observar que más de un 70 % de las altas que se han producido estos meses son de proyectos nuevos que antes no existían, cuando estas cifras eran del 35 % de media antes de 2020”, comenta.
Y es que, como muestran los datos, las compras online han aumentado debido a las restricciones y limitaciones establecidas para frenar los contagios. Con este escenario el ecommerce se ha presentado como la tabla de salvación para muchos pequeños negocios. Pero Padrón reconoce que “poner en marcha una tienda online en esta situación no va a salvar las cuentas del año de ninguna empresa, pero les va a permitir seguir teniendo actividad”.
Sin embargo, no todas las empresas disponen de las herramientas, los conocimiento y el presupuesto necesarios para dar el salto a las ventas online de la noche a la mañana. Para ayudar a las organizaciones, SiteGround pone a disposición de sus clientes todo lo necesario para poner en marcha cualquier tipo de negocio online. “Desde nuestro punto de vista el proceso es sencillo, pero entendemos que es un terreno nuevo para muchos emprendedores”, afirma.
Padrón asegura que “centrarse en la experiencia del usuario” es la base en la que debe apoyarse la estrategia online. Además, el directivo aporta una serie de consejos básicos para que el salto al ecommerce sea un éxito. Antes de comenzar a diseñar la web hay que tener claro el tipo de usuario al que se van a dirigir, así como los valores diferenciales y el tipo de lenguaje a utilizar.
Una vez determinados estos puntos hay que elegir “una herramienta de creación de tiendas online como WooCommerce, que dan libertad para crear la tienda online”, comenta. También se debe escoger un proveedor de servicios de hosting gestionado especializado.
En cuanto al diseño de la web debe ser claro, sencillo y con un contenido original. Además, es imprescindible incluir información sobre la empresa y proporcionar un servicio de atención al cliente eficiente. Por último, hay que garantizar el cumplimiento de la Ley Orgánica de Protección de Datos y del nuevo Reglamento General de Protección de Datos.
La digitalización que ha provocado la covid-19 ha dado como resultado un teletrabajo productivo y eficaz. Otro reto al que las pymes han tenido que adaptarse de la noche a la mañana. En esta carrera a contrarreloj la seguridad quedó en un segundo plano. Hecho que ha provocado numerosos problemas de ciberseguridad. Tal y como explica el directivo, apoyándose en datos de Kaspersky, Google e INCIBE, “el 43 % de los ataques son sufridos por pequeñas empresas y negocios”.

Además, Padrón reconoce que “el 60 % de las pymes víctimas de un ciberataque desaparecen a los seis meses del incidente”. ¿Por qué? Porque el alto de estos ataques, 35.000 euros de media. “El más dañino es el ransomware y el 91 % de estos ciberataques tienen el phishing como vía de entrada”, afirma.
Con estos datos Padrón aconseja que se prohíba el uso de equipos personales para trabajar, que se faciliten paquetes de software completamente actualizados en los que se incluyan herramientas colaborativas, antivirus, VPN y un almacenamiento protegido. También indica como imprescindible tener un plan de riesgos actualizado, así como un plan de formación en seguridad para los empleados
