Actualmente ya no realizamos pagos como lo hacíamos hace 20 años. Las transacciones electrónicas, ya sean en el punto de venta u online, cada vez toman más el relevo del dinero físico. Además, poco a poco seguimos viendo cómo nuevas tecnologías siguen transformando este hábito diario que es gastar dinero. La irrupción de los móviles ha sido un detonante para esta nueva forma de consumir, pero pronto veremos nuevas tendencias.
Tecnologías como los asistentes de voz, el Internet de las Cosas o las nuevas soluciones biométricas están adquiriendo fuerza y el año que viene empezaremos a ver cómo cristalizan en formas de pago que poco a poco se irán extendiendo y convirtiendo en algo cotidiano, como ahora lo es pagar con una tarjeta de crédito. Esto además contagiará a todos los actores del sector, que tendrán que no perder el tren de la innovación.
Teniendo en cuenta este contexto, Ingenico ha analizado las cinco tendencias disruptivas que transformarán la industria de pagos en 2020.
Comercio social y comercio por voz. En 2020, es probable que el «Comercio social» y «Comercio de voz» estén totalmente integrados en nuestra vida, permitiendo que los pagos se puedan realizar con un chatbot en redes sociales o instantáneamente a través de la voz. Cada vez será más común ver los «Servicios de valor agregado» o «VAS» implementados, complementando las transacciones en terminales de pago y ofreciendo extras para minoristas y consumidores, incluidas ofertas de fidelización y cupones que se integrarán perfectamente en las transacciones.
Objetos IoT como plataforma única de pago. La forma en que usamos las cosas está cambiando. Gracias al Internet de las Cosas, objetos cotidianos como los frigoríficos, televisores y hasta los automóviles estarán conectados entre sí, lo que puede suponer que un futuro se puedan realizar pagos utilizando este tipo de aparatos, sin que tenga que intervenir el ordenador o el móvil.. Las posibilidades que brinda el Internet de las cosas son infinitas cuando sabes cómo integrar un sistema de pago seguro en su integración en nuestros hogares, productos y necesidades diarias.
Tecnologías emergentes al servicio de la seguridad. Los consumidores son conscientes del uso que se realiza de sus datos, por lo que están extremadamente pendientes acerca de la seguridad y seguirán exigiendo a las nuevas soluciones de pago presentes en el mercado la máxima seguridad. Hace años era habitual que la única medida de seguridad fuese un número PIN, pero es algo que actualmente se queda corto. Los nuevos desarrollos tecnológicos se centran en el uso de autenticación biométrica o la integración de pagos a través del móvil, y el año que viene no solo veremos que se convierten en algo más cotidiano, sino que extiende la adaptación a las criptomonedas o el uso de Inteligencia Artificial y el Aprendizaje Automático en para garantizar los pagos totalmente seguros.
Integración total de la venta física y la online. El pago es el elemento central del comercio y la experiencia del cliente. Los consumidores sólo quieren una cosa en lo que respecta a la gestión de los pagos: no deben suponer ningún esfuerzo o ser totalmente discretos, pero sin dejar de estar bajo su control y ser totalmente seguros. En 2020 veremos cómo cada vez más proveedores consiguen fusionar con éxito los sistemas de compra físicos y online, creando la mejor experiencia multicanal, lo que les permitirá convertirse en los líderes del mercado.
Influencia de las startups y fintech. Cuando se trata de pagos, la experiencia de uso y los nuevos servicios son factores decisivos. Para ofrecer las soluciones que los consumidores están demandando y buscar nuevas áreas de crecimiento, la industria de los pagos debe apoyarse en las mejores organizaciones corporativas e institucionales, fondos de capital de riesgo, start-ups y fintechs. Y estar dispuestas a hacer pruebas que les permitan encontrar nuevos productos y fórmulas. Durante este proceso hay que trabajar tanto con los consumidores como para los consumidores, de tal forma que se puedan ofrecer los productos idóneos y conseguir la confianza del cliente.
“En los últimos cinco años, el comportamiento y las expectativas de los consumidores han cambiado radicalmente la forma en la que realizamos y recibimos los pagos. Hasta hace poco, los consumidores aún tenían que pagar cuando se les pedía. Ahora pueden pagar cuando quieran, donde quieran y cómo quieran”, declara Michel Léger, EVP Innovación en Ingenico. “Este cambio de comportamiento, impulsado en gran medida por el cambio de efectivo a no efectivo, ha llevado a nuevos usos y métodos de pago que se crean a un ritmo que nunca habríamos imaginado hace solo uno o dos años. Y este proceso de cambio no solo no se detendrá, sino que se acelerará el próximo año al abrigo de las nuevas tecnologías”.
