Según la IV edición del Mapa del IoT en España de UnaBiz, País Vasco, Galicia y Ceuta han sido las comunidades que más han crecido en implantación en 2023 y logística, agricultura y ganadería y eficiencia energética los sectores prioritarios
La implantación de la Internet de las cosas en nuestro país sigue creciendo. Aunque todavía se trata de una tecnología que está en sus primeros pasos, el despliegue masivo será cuestión de tiempo. Y de poco tiempo, según parece. Sin embargo, como ocurre con otros avances, su adopción va por barrios y más concretamente por comunidades autónomas.
Según la cuarta edición del Mapa del IoT en España, un análisis basado en los dispositivos conectados a la red 0G Sigfox de UnaBiz en nuestro país, Madrid, Barcelona y Andalucía mantienen primera, segunda y tercera posición, respectivamente.
Aunque el liderazgo de Madrid se mantiene -con un 36,76% de los objetos conectados en España-, ha sufrido una bajada del 2% respecto a 2022.
La otra cara de la moneda son Navarra, Canarias, Melilla y Cantabria como las comunidades con menor cuota de implantación de dispositivos IoT, no superando ninguna de ellas el 1% sobre el total.
No obstante, a diferencia de años anteriores, la brecha entre las comunidades autónomas se está reduciendo gradualmente. Algunas regiones como País Vasco (5,32%) han experimentado un crecimiento rápido acercándose al top 3, concretamente a Baleares, que cuenta con un 5,56%, y que ha recortado su número de dispositivos conectados, explican desde la compañía.
También Galicia ha tenido un crecimiento notable pasando de un 2% a un 2,66% de dispositivos conectados. Aunque la mayor sorpresa proviene de Ceuta, que ha subido del 1% al 1,87%, superando a regiones como La Rioja, Extremadura, Canarias o Asturias.
Otro de los aspectos que analiza UnaBiz en su informe son los sectores de aplicación de esta tecnología. Según las conexiones, un 37.84% se utilizan en logística, un 25.61% en agricultura y ganadería, y un 18.75% en eficiencia energética.
Sobre estos hallazgos, la compañía destaca el significativo porcentaje destinado a la agricultura y la ganadería, lo que desafía la percepción tradicional de que estos sectores avanzan lentamente hacia la modernización y la vanguardia tecnológica.

Desde el liderazgo ejemplar de Madrid y Cataluña hasta el crecimiento sorprendente en regiones como el País Vasco y Galicia, queda claro que el IoT está dejando una huella significativa en toda España’’, comenta Manuel Álvarez, managing director de UnaBiz España. ‘’Además, la implementación en sectores como la logística, la agricultura y la ganadería, así como en la eficiencia energética, subraya el papel crucial que desempeña esta tecnología en la mejora de la productividad y la sostenibilidad en una variedad de industrias’’, concluye.
Para llevar a cabo este estudio, UnaBiz ha analizado el total de dispositivos conectados a su red desplegada en el 80% del territorio, al igual que los tres últimos años, qué regiones y sectores han liderado la implantación de tecnología IoT en el país, analizando un total de 5.444.908 dispositivos, 470.477 más que en la pasada edición del Mapa del IoT en España.
