El COVID-19 no solo hará que 2020 pase a la historia como el año más negro de las últimas décadas desde un punto de vista social, sanitario y económico, sino también como el año en que se experimentó el despegue meteórico de la digitalización en nuestro país. Según los expertos del centro universitario U-tad, la pandemia ha conseguido que la transformación digital prevista para los próximos cinco años se haya ejecutado en seis meses, lo que marcará también la evolución y el uso de las tecnologías de cara al próximo año.
»La importancia de la digitalización en la salida de esta crisis es clara. Junto con la transición ecológica, la cohesión social y territorial y la igualdad de género, es uno de los cuatro ejes en los que se basa el plan de recuperación, transformación y resiliencia planteado por la Administración, y sin duda nos permitirá hallar puntos de mejora que ayuden a nuestro país a experimentar una evolución positiva», sostiene José Antonio Rodríguez, director académico de U-tad.
Este centro universitario ha identificado seis tendencias digitales clave impulsadas por la pandemia que tendrán un gran protagonismo en 2021 y que requerirán una importante demanda de profesionales especializados, convirtiéndose en nichos claros de empleo:
Comercio electrónico: la búsqueda de la diferenciación. Con una sociedad que ha tenido que cambiar sus hábitos de consumo, las empresas necesitan posicionarse con más fuerza en el negocio digital, donde el usuario de Internet está a un simple click de convertirse en cliente, pero con más distracciones y competencia que nunca. Por ello, es fundamental mantener una adecuada estrategia de marketing digital, buscar la creatividad en plataformas sencillas e intuitivas, y reforzar la imagen de marca mediante contenidos interactivos que al mismo tiempo permitan analizar el comportamiento de los usuarios. Aquí entran en juego la Inteligencia Artificial y el Big Data, que permiten identificar patrones de consumo y ofrecerles experiencias personalizadas. También existen asistentes de voz inteligentes, o tecnologías como la Realidad Aumentada que ofrecen nuevas formas de mostrar los productos.
Realidad Virtual: una nueva forma de vivir experiencias. Las limitaciones a la presencialidad han dado alas a estas tecnologías, que se han convertido en una potente alternativa para recrear multitud de actividades con sensaciones de máximo realismo. La RV tiene una capacidad perceptual de inmersión única frente a cualquier otro medio audiovisual, y no solo es ideal para el turismo y el ocio digital (visitar museos, asistir a eventos, etc.); también se fomentará su aplicación en actividades educativas y formativas de carácter práctico, como herramienta de tratamiento en procesos de rehabilitación y terapias psicológicas (superación de fobias, distracción del dolor, concienciación, etc.), además de en el ámbito del marketing y la publicidad, la arquitectura o el cine. Su amplio abanico de posibilidades está llevando a muchas empresas a buscar especialistas en esta área para impulsar nuevas líneas de negocio y estrategias empresariales.
Analítica de datos: la estrategia del éxito. Los datos se han convertido en el activo estratégico más importante. Los avances tecnológicos en el campo del Big Data están permitiendo a las empresas recopilar cantidades ingentes de información, y saber interpretarla es la clave para garantizar la mejor toma de decisiones de negocio. Además, la capacidad de procesamiento que aportan estas tecnologías ha hecho posible la aplicación de la Inteligencia Artificial a diversos ámbitos del entorno empresarial. Por ello, la analítica de datos ya no será exclusiva de sectores como la banca, los seguros o las telecomunicaciones: cualquier compañía de cualquier sector puede mejorar su productividad gracias a ella si implanta una clara orientación hacia los datos como estrategia empresarial. Así, los expertos en Big Data, Data Science y análisis de datos estarán entre los profesionales más demandados no solo en 2021, sino también en las próximas décadas.
Ocio digital: el boom del desarrollo de contenidos. El incremento en el consumo de entretenimiento digital ha acelerado una tendencia que se venía observando desde antes de la crisis, y que impulsará la contratación de expertos en el desarrollo de estos contenidos. Las plataformas digitales han ganado peso, han sido escenario de estrenos antes solo reservados para el cine, algunas como Netflix o HBO han reforzado su apuesta por la creación de contenidos de animación, y España se ha convertido en uno de sus principales proveedores. Los estudios de animación han recurrido a metodologías colaborativas para poder mantener sus ritmos de producción en remoto, y la técnica de la animación se ha ido implantando también en otros sectores de la economía. En lo que respecta a los videojuegos, su futuro estará marcado por dos claves: la Realidad Aumentada aplicada al entretenimiento y el juego en la nube, que puede dar la vuelta a todo el negocio del sector. Asimismo, el Big Data seguirá siendo elemental en la monetización de esta industria, especialmente en mobile y los social games.
Educación a distancia y teletrabajo: hacia modelos híbridos. La transición a esta nueva forma de hacer las cosas llegó de manera abrupta, pero en estos meses se ha modulado y se están adoptando soluciones híbridas, como el modelo de docencia telepresencial que combina alumnos en clase y en remoto implantado en universidades y centros de educación secundaria y bachillerato. Aunque la experiencia de la formación presencial resulta imprescindible en algunos aspectos, la educación va a evolucionar hacia un modelo mixto en el que sí habrá contenidos que puedan impartirse online. Del mismo modo, el teletrabajo ya no será una manera diferente de trabajar sino una parte de un nuevo modelo laboral. Desaparecerán los horarios fijos de oficina y los grandes espacios, pero conforme la epidemia vaya remitiendo se recuperarán las reuniones cara a cara. La tecnología permitirá llevar el puesto de trabajo a zonas con menor presión demográfica y urbanística, y eso va a suponer un incentivo para revertir la tendencia a la despoblación.
Ciberseguridad: más riesgo, mayor inversión. El hecho de que casi todas las esferas de la vida se hayan trasladado al entorno digital, así como el crecimiento del comercio electrónico, han multiplicado los riesgos de sufrir un ciberataque, los usuarios pueden ver expuestos sus datos y sus detalles de navegación, incluso la información sensible de su ordenador o su teléfono móvil. Por ello, resulta vital que las empresas adopten medidas de protección, pero también se necesitan iniciativas de concienciación de ciudadanos y empleados. Sin duda, las empresas invertirán más en ciberseguridad a partir de ahora, y existirá una mayor demanda de expertos en este campo (según el Cybersecurity Workforce Study, en España existe actualmente una demanda de más de 35.000 profesionales de esta área).
