Sage destaca la Automatización Robótica de Procesos (RPA) como vital para el devenir de las empresas en 2020. Se denomina así al proceso de automatizar las tareas más simples y repetitivas tales como la recopilación de datos de un archivo y, por ejemplo, su posterior introducción a una aplicación empresarial.
“Cuando hablamos de RPA, no hablamos de un robot físico. Hablamos de un enfoque para trabajar en múltiples aplicaciones y softwares e ingresar, mantener, migrar, integrar y extraer datos en hojas de cálculo”, afirma Aaron Harris, CTO de Sage.
Actualmente, solo las grandes empresas están utilizando esta tecnología a una escala considerable. Para 2020, se comenzará a ver también su utilización en pequeñas y medianas empresas. Los ingresos en software dedicados a la RPA crecieron hasta 864 millones de dólares en 2018 y hasta 1.300 millones en 2019. Este significativo aumento lo convierte en el segmento de crecimiento más rápido en el mercado laboral de software empresarial según los datos obtenidos por Gartner.
La RPA mejora la efectividad en el desarrollo de tareas automatizadas y repetitivas. “Dos tercios de los procesos financieros están automatizados, de una forma u otra. El tercio restante lo ocupan las solicitudes de información ad hoc o humanas”, señala Aaron Harris. “El siguiente paso de la RPA es el de automatizar estos procesos. Todo ello, traerá como resultado una gestión del tiempo más útil y eficaz para cada uno de los actores implicados en las tareas”.
Durante los próximos años, más compañías con visión de futuro comenzarán a compartir sus resultados financieros en tiempo real, liberando así el potencial que es proporcionar un acceso instantáneo a la salud financiera de una empresa. Esta es una previsión basada en que algunas grandes empresas han hecho patente su deseo de transparencia financiera y la RPA es una de las diversas tendencias que fomentan un futuro más automatizado. Los otros factores clave son la Inteligencia Artificial y la transformación digital, que ayudan a los profesionales a rediseñar los procesos para aprovechar las capacidades digitales, aliviando la carga administrativa y de informes.
Sin duda alguna, la tecnología Blockchain es una ingeniosa invención, pero ha pasado por lo que Gartner denomina en sus hiperciclos, “el canal de la desilusión”. Prometía mucho al comienzo, pero por el momento no ha cumplido con las expectativas generadas. Desde que surgió como la “gran novedad” se han desarrollado muy pocas aplicaciones realmente significativas para el Blockchain en el mundo real.
Así que, ¿qué frena realmente al Blockchain para su adopción general? Existen algunos elementos clave que podrían definirse en: costes, escalabilidad y confianza.
Con Amazon o Microsoft, líderes de industria, comprometiéndose a crear servicios alrededor del Blockchain, comenzará a verse más esta adopción general según se aborden los problemas mencionados. A partir de 2020 será cuando entren en juego sus soluciones aplicables al mundo real.
La nueva criptomoneda de Facebook, Libra, tiene el potencial de cambiar el futuro en cuanto a pagos se refiere. Se propone como solución a un problema del mundo real y podría tener un éxito enorme, explican desde Sage. En el pasado, las denominadas monedas virtuales solo han sido útiles como depósitos de divisas. Libra, en cambio, es la primera criptomoneda que tiene el potencial de ser un medio de intercambio.
La fortaleza principal de Facebook está en su enorme base de datos de usuarios. Ahora mismo es una red que cuenta con 2 billones de personas, un tercio de la población mundial. Si, por ejemplo, un trabajador quiere enviar dinero a su país natal, tiene que hacer frente a los intereses del cambio de divisas (6% – 20%) y de la transferencia, además de ser una operación arriesgada y lenta en ciertas ocasiones. Si la familia utiliza habitualmente Facebook, podrían convertir su moneda local a Libra y utilizar Facebook Messenger para enviar dinero a donde necesiten. «Es rápido, fácil y bastante seguro».
Se trata también de una manera de enfrentarse a largo plazo al lavado de dinero. Actualmente, puede no existir un rastro alguno de donde viene o va el dinero. Esto se debe al sistema actual de transacciones financieras que tenemos. Las Naciones Unidas estimaron recientemente que las ganancias criminales al “limpiar dinero” ascienden a entre el 2% y 5% del PIB mundial, es decir, de 1,6 a 4 billones de dólares al año.
Por otro lado, la criptomoneda, deja un registro inmutable de cada transacción realizada. Es como un libro con un registro protegido criptográficamente para monedas que indica de dónde viene y a dónde va el dinero. Esto consigue que sea mucho más difícil lavar dinero.
Aunque quedan una serie de problemas regulatorios y legislativos que deben superarse, esta es una solución tecnológica disruptiva que cuestiona la noción misma de un sistema monetario centralizado. Las naciones del G7 incluso han formado un equipo específico para analizar el tema de las criptomonedas, centrándose esencialmente en Libra. 2020 será el año en el que estas novedosas monedas virtuales den el paso hasta consolidarse como una opción real para las empresas.
Además, 2020 será un periodo clave para que las medianas y pequeñas empresas vayan más allá en la implementación de tecnologías disruptivas. Ya iniciada su transformación digital, el alcance de la implementación de estas tecnologías marcará los beneficios reales que se harán efectivos en sus negocios.
