Nadie duda de que la tecnología ha sido un fuerte aliado en esta crisis suscitada por el coronavirus. Sin embargo, una vez pasado aquel momento en el que la tecnología fue la “tabla de salvación” para muchas empresas, ya que les permitió que el mantener la economía viva, se hace necesario que las compañías miren al departamento TIC y aprovechen al máximo su potencial.
Tal y como destaca el experto Jordi Damià, profesor de estrategia en EADA Business School y CEO de Setesca, son muchas las compañías que siguen percibiendo que el departamento TIC supone un alto coste, el valor que se aporta es bajo y, al mismo tiempo, los usuarios suelen estar descontentos con el nivel de servicio que se ofrece. ¿Cómo cambiar esa percepción y conseguir que sea valorado y visto como un servicio esencial? ¿Cuáles son las acciones mínimas que debe llevar a cabo?
Cuando se prepare el presupuesto informático anual, hay que presentar la estrategia informática de forma que se muestre que está alineada con la estrategia del negocio, y esto se consigue explicando todos los proyectos y actividades en términos del beneficio económico que ofrecen a la empresa.
“Es necesario disponer en el ERP y el CRM de los modelos analíticos y las herramientas necesarias para analizar datos de estado del negocio sin que los usuarios deban crear herramientas propias” o lo que es aún peor, creando sus propias herramientas a parte del departamento TIC, apunta Jordi Damià.
Es totalmente básico disponer de un soporte ofimático apropiado para las necesidades de la empresa y orientado a que los usuarios saquen el máximo rendimiento a sus herramientas. Hay que evitar que los Usuarios vean este servicio “Burocratizado” y más orientado al control que al servicio.
El departamento de informática debe estar organizado y debe actuar siguiendo métodos de servicio eficaces y sobre todo muy transparentes de cada a la empresa, de manera que todos los usuarios sepan cómo se prioriza y conozcan lo que se hace y cuándo se hace.
La metodología de gestión tiene que ser sencilla, y sobre todo entendiendo que los usuarios no tienen por qué conocer términos o funciones técnicas “de esta manera se facilitará a los usuarios su participación en los proyectos” afirma Damià.
El departamento TIC debe de ser un canal útil que facilite la obtención de datos con el fin de que los usuarios puedan realizar de forma conveniente el análisis en herramientas ofimáticas.
Del mismo modo, tal y como sostiene Damià, es crucial que el departamento de informática sea un sustento en la formación y uso de todas las herramientas informáticas de la empresa.
Los responsables del departamento TIC deben ser expertos conocedores del negocio. De esta forma, cualquier solución que propongan estarán alineadas con los objetivos de negocio. Asimismo, tendrán que anticiparse y proponer las soluciones que sean necesarias.
El departamento TIC tiene que ser capaz de conseguir un modelo de explicación de beneficios de sus proyectos y actividades de forma sencilla y clara.
Siempre que el director TIC presente sus proyectos debe hablar en su parte inicial de cuáles serán los beneficios para el negocio. Asimismo, estos beneficios deberán haber sido aceptados y aprobados por el departamento de usuario.
