Así se desprende del estudio Acelerando el camino hacia RRHH 3.0, realizado por el Institute for Business Value de IBM a través de una encuesta a 1.500 ejecutivos de Recursos Humanos a nivel mundial, de los que 101 eran españoles.
Según esta investigación, acelerar el ritmo de aprendizaje continuo, apoyar el bienestar integral de los empleados y reinventar la función de Recursos Humanos y su arquitectura tecnológica para la toma de decisiones son tres aspectos que impulsan la innovación.
En el camino hacia la transformación digital de esta área, el estudio de IBM estima que un 13 % de las funciones de RRHH ha sido trasladadas a la nube, y se prevé que siga aumentando. Por otro lado, un 75 % de los directores de Recursos Humanos a nivel mundial indicó que la nube y la analítica de datos serán una prioridad para sus negocios en 2022.
La encuesta señala, además, que el 66 % de las empresas con mejor rendimiento está invirtiendo activamente en nuevas habilidades y capacidades de sus departamentos de RRHH, en comparación con el 11 % de las demás empresas.
En el caso de España, el 71 % de los directivos de RRHH manifestó que presta apoyo a sus empleados en la formación en nuevas habilidades. No obstante, de acuerdo a los datos de este nuevo estudio, tan solo un 18 % de las empresas está invirtiendo en el desarrollo continuo de nuevas capacidades y habilidades en el área de RRHH.
La analítica de datos y la inteligencia artificial (IA) favorecen también el cambio en este departamento. Un 14 % de los ejecutivos españoles utiliza IA para identificar nuevas habilidades necesarias para el futuro de los empleados.
A nivel global, un 69 % dijo que la toma de decisiones basada en los datos, impulsada por la IA, es crítica para el futuro de los RRHH.
Además, en España, un 18 % de directivos de Recursos Humanos invierte actualmente en analítica para tomar decisiones basadas en datos.
Brecha de habilidades
Por otra parte, el estudio destaca que, aunque la pandemia de covid-19 ha acelerado la transformación digital de las empresas, su progreso está estrechamente relacionado con cerrar la brecha de habilidades que existe en sus empleados.
Directivos de empresas de todo el mundo señalaron en una anterior investigación de IBM que la falta de habilidades es uno de los mayores obstáculos para el progreso de las empresas.
En este sentido, el nuevo estudio focalizado en ejecutivos de RRHH revela que alrededor de 120 millones de trabajadores de las doce economías más grandes del mundo necesitan formarse de nuevo y adquirir capacidades adecuadas ante el avance de la IA y la automatización en los tres próximos años.
El contexto actual ha supuesto un punto de inflexión para las organizaciones, que pueden fracasar o emerger más fuertes dependiendo de la agilidad y formación de sus empleados.
En la actualidad, ahora se tarda diez veces más en cerrar una brecha de habilidades a través de la formación, respecto a lo que se tardaba hace cuatro años. En este aspecto, casi tres de cada cuatro ejecutivos de empresas de todo el mundo indicó que la formación y educación de los trabajadores es una prioridad alta para su negocio en los próximos dos años. En cuatro años, la intención ha subido del 21% al 74 %.
