La implantación de tecnologías de Inteligencia Artificial (IA) junto a una apuesta por la capacitación digital del capital humano es la clave para hacer que las empresas sean más competitivas. Esta es una de las conclusiones que arroja un reciente estudio de Microsoft sobre el nivel de capacitación de los profesionales españoles en tecnologías de Inteligencia Artificial.
Según el informe, que se llevó a cabo entre el 12 y el 30 de marzo de 2020, el 37% de las compañías españolas ya se encuentra en fase de exploración de procesos y tecnologías de IA y un 28% está en una etapa más madura, que las posiciona como líderes en adopción de esta tecnología.
Los profesionales encuestados ven un vínculo claro entre el nivel de madurez en el uso de la Inteligencia Artificial y el valor que estas tecnologías aportan a su estrategia de negocio. Así, el 95% de las empresas líderes en innovación afirman obtener valor de la IA, en comparación con el 73% de las empresas que están en una etapa exploratoria de su viaje a la IA.
Antonio Budia, director de Operaciones y Marketing de Microsoft en España, comenta que “la Inteligencia Artificial está en el corazón de la transformación digital hacia una economía de datos -Data Economy-, y desempeñará un papel clave para ayudar a las empresas a ser más ágiles y competitivas”.
En cuanto a la capacitación del personal, los datos señalan que uno de cada cuatro trabajadores de empresas en España (25%) utiliza habitualmente sistemas de Inteligencia Artificial y posee conocimientos sobre estas tecnologías. Esta cifra se incrementa hasta el 40% (16 puntos más) en el caso de las organizaciones que lideran el despliegue de soluciones basadas en Inteligencia Artificial. Son precisamente estas últimas las que se encuentran en mejor posición para llevar a cabo una transformación y adaptarse a situaciones de crisis, como la que nos plantea la COVID-19. Este hecho no se debe simplemente a la inversión tecnológica que realizan estas organizaciones, sino que el estudio de Microsoft demuestra que la madurez en la implantación de tecnología de IA, además de aportar más valor a las estrategias de negocio, va directamente ligada a un mayor esfuerzo por mejorar el ingenio humano -la capacitación y formación de sus empleados- y a la creación de una cultura positiva orientada a la innovación. Esto se traduce en profesionales más motivados y una mayor capacidad de adaptación en situación de crisis.
El 57% de las empresas más avanzadas en el uso de la IA tienen en marcha programas de especialización para sus empleados (9 puntos por encima de la media) y el 40% está en fase de planificación de este tipo de actividades formativas. De hecho, un 62% de estas organizaciones tiene previsto incrementar su inversión en formación en Inteligencia Artificial durante el próximo año. Y un 71% de los empleados de estas organizaciones líderes en el uso de IA participan actualmente en programas de reciclaje con el fin de adquirir conocimientos sobre estas tecnologías, 20 puntos por encima de la media de las empresas españolas.
Las organizaciones líderes en el uso de IA han dedicado muchos más recursos y herramientas que otras para mejorar las competencias digitales, técnicas y de resolución de problemas de sus empleados. Por lo tanto, cuentan con un “dividendo de innovación” que les posiciona mejor para competir en el mercado actual y hacer frente a los requisitos de los clientes en este nuevo paradigma.
Así un 66% de los empleados de las empresas líderes en IA asegura que su organización está haciendo todo lo posible por prepararlos y formarles adecuadamente para sacar provecho de la IA (26 puntos por encima de la media) y un poco más de la mitad (un 52%) asegura que si sus empresas no invierten en ellos, estarían dispuestos a buscar otro puesto de trabajo. Y es que las conclusiones del estudio nos muestran que el aumento de los niveles de competencia de los empleados da lugar a una plantilla más motivada y comprometida, lo que fomenta una cultura más dinámica e innovadora que impulsan más valor y mejoran los productos y servicios de la compañía.
El 57% de los empleados de las compañías líderes en IA españolas se considera un trabajador mejorado -augmented worker- y este porcentaje sube a un 93% entre los directivos de este tipo de organizaciones. En el caso de las compañías que se encuentran en fase intermedia de adopción, los porcentajes son de un 32% y un 69%, respectivamente.
Además, un elevado porcentaje de los trabajadores de las empresas españolas (un 96%) está altamente motivado para adquirir más competencias relacionadas con la Inteligencia Artificial, y resulta interesante comprobar cómo quieren reinvertir el tiempo que les deja libre el uso de la tecnología de IA en desarrollar sus habilidades y contribuir en mayor medida al negocio. Así, el estudio de Microsoft señala que:
• Un 50% lo reinvertiría en aprender;
• Un 33% en innovar;
• Un 31% en tareas de planificación; y
• Un 29%, en colaborar para mejorar los resultados de negocio.
“El camino para alcanzar todo el potencial de la IA es utilizar estas tecnologías para complementar el trabajo de las personas y fomentar su ingenio, por lo que será crucial tener un foco continuo en su capacitación”, señala Antonio Budia.
