El 95% de las instituciones públicas identificó la mayor digitalización de las empresas como oportunidad mientras que las pymes fueron las más pesimistas: un 8% cree que no hay nuevas oportunidades.
La crisis del coronavirus conlleva nuevas oportunidades para las empresas que sepan reaccionar y adaptarse. Un estudio de Gedeth Network con investigadoras de la Universidad de Sídney revela que el 78% de los encuestados considera que la digitalización de las empresas es la principal lección aprendida de la crisis del COVID-19 seguido de la oportunidad de explorar nuevos mercados y canales (un 44%), tras el colapso de suministros y el cierre de proveedores vivido durante los momentos álgidos de la pandemia.
En una línea similar el 18% de los encuestados también ve una oportunidad para mejorar la cadena de suministro y buscar nuevos proveedores, lo que abre de nuevo la exploración de oportunidades de negocio en nuevos mercados internacionales. Así frente a la tradicional exposición y dependencia a China, surgen interesantes alternativas en otros países de la zona Asia Pacífico, como puede ser Australia o incluso proveedores europeos que han ajustado precios para ser más competitivos.
Las empresas europeas son las que más oportunidades han visto para mejorar la cadena de suministro. Sobre todo las empresas de ecommerce y salud, dos sectores tradicionalmente muy digitalizados, que antepusieron en sus respuestas las oportunidades asociadas con la búsqueda de nuevos mercados y proveedores frente a la digitalización.
Analizando las nuevas oportunidades de negocio por el tipo de empresa, el 95% de las instituciones públicas identificó la mayor digitalización de las empresas como oportunidad para mejorar y ganar en eficiencia, mientras que las pymes fueron las más pesimistas: un 8% considera que la pandemia no ha generado nuevas oportunidades.
Poniendo el foco en los países y regiones, las empresas de África y Oriente Medio (un 91%) y las de Latinoamérica (un 81%) son las que más se identificaron con las oportunidades asociadas con la digitalización, mientras que las de América del Norte (un 53%) y Asia-Pacífico (un 52%) lo hicieron con la internacionalización y la apertura a nuevos mercados.
“El estudio revela una doble oportunidad en la digitalización ya no sólo para ser más eficientes y competitivos, sino para que las empresas españolas aprovechen su experiencia y conocimiento para ayudar a la transformación digital de África o Latinoamérica o a la aplicación de la tecnología y la innovación a proyectos ligados con el cumplimiento de los ODS de la ONU”, apunta Juan Millán, socio director de Gedeth Network.
Precisamente algunas empresas destacaron en sus respuestas que nos encontramos ante una situación única para revisar los modelos de innovación e I+D, para ayudar a enfrentarnos en mejores condiciones a la gestión ante las próximas crisis. Alguna incluso considera que la experiencia vivida podría impulsar un cambio en el modelo productivo de los países, evitando la sobrexposición a determinados mercados y mejorando la cadena de suministro.
En esa línea, en el caso de España, la cercanía a mercados como el escandinavo, la sintonía cultural con Latinoamérica e incluso con EE.UU, así como el creciente gusto e interés por lo español en Canadá o Australia pueden suponer interesantes vías de crecimiento para las empresas españolas dispuestas a explorar nuevos mercados o proveer a grandes multinacionales extranjeras.
El estudio de Gedeth, en colaboración con dos investigadoras de la Universidad de Sídney, sobre “El efecto del COVID-19 en los negocios internacionales” se ha realizado durante el mes de junio y ha analizado las respuestas de más de 500 empresas e instituciones de 56 países. Estos países representan el 85% del PIB mundial y el 66% de la población.
