La realidad de las Fintech se va abriendo paso en la sociedad española: empresas tecnológicas que ofrecen productos y servicios financieros para operar cien por cien en el mundo online, y que según el Primer Estudio sobre conocimiento, hábitos y uso elaborado por la Asociación de Usuarios Financieros (ASUFIN), ya forman parte de la operativa financiera habitual del 15% de la población. El término acuñado para catalogar a estas empresas, unas 400 que ya operan en nuestro país con mayoría de startups, según las últimas estimaciones, lo conoce un 30% de la población. El estudio se ha presentado en el marco del Congreso Fintech: oportunidades y retos para el consumidor y la promoción de la competencia, organizado hoy en colaboración con la Comisión Nacional de los Mercados y la Competencia. Radiografía del usuario de Fintech Los españoles que operan de modo habitual con empresas Fintech lo hacen de forma mayoritaria, el 85%, para efectuar pagos; hasta el 38% emplea los agregadores que permiten gestionar mejor las finanzas (todos los bancos en una misma aplicación) y cerca de un 25% está familiarizado con comparadores, neobancos y compra de criptodivisa. A lo que siguen los servicios de inversión, contratación de seguros y financiación de proyectos. El usuario de servicios y productos Fintech está situado mayoritariamente en la franja de edad de los 26 a los 35 años, así como en la de 36 a 45 años. Sin embargo, el grado de conocimiento de lo que ofrecen estas empresas es muy acusado en la franja de edad más joven, de 18 a 25 años. El boom de las criptomonedas llega al 4% Si se amplía el foco al total de la población española, hasta un 4% declara haber comprado criptomonedas o haber hecho uso de los servicios de un neobanco (entidades que operan exclusivamente a través de Internet). Sin embargo, son los servicios de pago y los que ofrecen los agregadores que permiten gestionar las finanzas los de uso mayoritario por la población en general. Sólo un 2% de la población reconoce haber empleado un servicio de inversión por Internet.
¿Confiamos más en las grandes tecnológicas? A tenor de los datos extraídos, los españoles confían más en la banca y aseguradoras tradicionales, así como en organismos públicos como la Agencia Española de Administración Tributaria (AEAT), Seguridad Social y Tribunales españoles y europeos que en las grandes compañías tecnológicas conocidas como las GAFA (Google, Amazon, Facebook y Apple): un 60% aproximado frente a algo más de un 30%. Con respecto al conocimiento que tenemos sobre el uso y cesión de los datos personales, un 78% declara que es consciente de que las GAFA conoce sus datos personales y el uso que hace de sus finanzas frente al 88% que afirma lo mismo de su banco, y el 83% en el caso de la AEAT. Los españoles conocen y asumen mejor que bancos, aseguradoras y principales organismos conozcan y usen sus datos que las empresas tecnológicas. Mejor precio, a cambio de cesión de datos Este mayor recelo se aprecia claramente a la hora de preguntar si los españoles cederían más datos personales, de los actualmente cedidos, a las grandes compañías tecnológicas: sólo un 15% responde de forma afirmativa. Sólo si esto supusiera un ahorro económico en los servicios que recibe, hasta un 83% estaría dispuesto a hacerlo. Frente a esto, un 35% se muestra favorable a ceder más datos personales a cambio de una mejora en la calidad de atención del servicio. Se estima que ya operan en nuestro país alrededor de 400 empresas Fintech, que según los últimos datos suponen un 16% más que el año pasado y emplean entre 5.000 y 7.500 trabajadores. Neobancos, neoaseguradoras (Insurtech), roboadvisors, agregadores para gestionar las finanzas, entre otras modalidades empresariales, son las que operan bajo esta denominación.
