Según la consultora Gartner, en 2020 la nube será cada vez más considerada como la primera opción para la implementación de un software y, según los analistas de Forrester, el cloud no es solamente una opción viable para una mayor cantidad de aplicaciones y cargas de trabajo, sino que también es frecuentemente el método elegido para ‘ganar ventajas competitivas en la era del cliente’.
Existen cuatro ventajas principales que desgranan los especialistas de Liferay y que son las que marcan la diferencia a la hora de realizar implementaciones, concretamente en nube:
Reducción de costes: Implementar un software a través de una solución cloud pública reduce tanto los costes de infraestructura como los de TI y mantenimiento. Una solución cloud ofrece un valor de negocio más rápido y con una menor cantidad de costes asociados.
Mayor flexibilidad: Las soluciones cloud se adaptan mejor a las demandas de cualquier negocio. Cuando el crecimiento o estacionalidad cambia las necesidades, la flexibilidad de la nube permite que se responda de la forma correcta, con una solución más adecuada y que revierta en una mejor experiencia para el cliente.
Time-to-market más rápido: La implementación se hace más fácil con una infraestructura de nube pública. Desde el principio, los desarrolladores tienen todo lo necesario – desde la infraestructura hasta los entornos- lo que revierte en una disminución del time-to-market y permite que el negocio se ponga en marcha lo antes posible.
Facilidad de uso: En general, las soluciones en la nube simplifican la gestión de la infraestructura. Los equipos de TI ya no necesitan mantener servidores físicos y, en cambio, pueden utilizar interfaces de las soluciones cloud para facilitar la configuración y la monitorización.
Se trata de unos beneficios que resultan en una mayor capacidad para acelerar la innovación dentro de la organización, liberando los recursos internos, permitiendo reorientarlos hacia las competencias clave del negocio.
Estas ventajas manifiestas del uso de la tecnología en la nube vienen además refrendadas por las principales consultoras y analistas del mercado. Y es que, según un informe reciente de la consultora Quint Wellington Redwood, en España el sector del cloud computing alcanzará una facturación de 1.600 millones de euros en 2020, multiplicando por seis el negocio respecto a 2017. Concretamente, el 78% de las firmas españolas estaría dedicando menos del 15% de su presupuesto al cloud, una cifra aún baja, pero prometedora.
Además, según datos de Eurostat, correspondientes a 2018, el 22% de las empresas con más de diez trabajadores en España ya habían subido algunos recursos a la nube.
