Bitglass, la compañía de soluciones de agente de acceso seguro a la nube (CASB) de nueva generación, acaba de publicar Guardianes de la nube, su Informe sobre la seguridad en la nube en 2019. A medida que las empresas migran cada vez más sus datos y operaciones a la nube, deben mantener una postura de ciberseguridad sólida. Para descubrir hasta qué punto lo están consiguiendo, Bitglass ha colaborado junto a una comunidad líder en seguridad cibernética con la realización de una encuesta a los profesionales de TI sobre la seguridad de la nube en sus compañías.
Cada año, Bitglass realiza una investigación sobre el estado de la seguridad en la nube empresarial para identificar las principales tendencias y las vulnerabilidades más comunes. El informe de este año señala que el 75% de las empresas usan varias soluciones en la nube, pero solo el 20% tienen visibilidad respecto al comportamiento anómalo de las aplicaciones. Debido a que cada vez hay más empresas que guardan información confidencial en la nube, como datos de clientes (45%), datos de empleados (42%) y propiedad intelectual (24%), es fundamental adoptar medidas adecuadas de seguridad en la nube.

A pesar de que ha cambiado el orden, las principales prioridades en 2019 siguen siendo las mismas que en 2018; este año, las tres mayores preocupaciones son la defensa contra el malware, el cumplimiento de la normativa y la protección de las principales aplicaciones en uso.
El uso de soluciones de CASB para protegerse contra el malware ha aumentado del 20% en 2018 al 31% en 2019.
El control de acceso (52%) y el antimalware (46%) son las medidas de seguridad en la nube más utilizadas. Sin embargo, la implantación de estos y otros sistemas de protección, como el inicio de sesión único (26%) y la prevención de pérdidas de datos (20%), aún no está suficientemente extendida.
El malware se ha convertido en la causa de fugas de datos más inquietante y un 27 % de los encuestados lo citan como la principal preocupación de su empresa. A la inversa, la preocupación por las fugas de datos mediante aplicaciones en la nube no autorizadas se ha reducido del 12% en 2018 al 5% en 2019. Esto demuestra que las empresas se están dando cuenta de que existen amenazas mayores que las aplicaciones de TI no aprobadas.
El coste es el principal factor que tienen en cuenta las empresas a la hora de evaluar a los proveedores de seguridad en la nube. Otros aspectos importantes incluyen la facilidad de implementación (46%), si la solución es nativa para la nube (45%), la facilidad de aplicación de las políticas de seguridad en la nube (36%) y la capacidad de la solución para integrarse con varias plataformas en la nube (36%).
“Actualmente se almacenan datos en más aplicaciones en la nube y se accede a ellos desde más dispositivos que nunca”, afirma Rich Campagna, director de Marketing de Bitglass. “Este informe señala que el 93 % de los encuestados están al menos moderadamente preocupados por su capacidad para usar la nube de una manera segura, y que los niveles de adopción de las herramientas y prácticas básicas de seguridad en la nube aún son demasiado bajos. Muchas empresas necesitan revisar su enfoque respecto a la protección de datos, ya que las herramientas que han usado tradicionalmente para proteger la información en sus instalaciones no son capaces de proteger sus datos en la nube”.
