En esta edición, informaron fuentes de Tecma Red en una nota de prensa, el evento “sirvió para mostrar el alto grado de madurez de los proyectos de las ciudades españolas, conocer las últimas iniciativas puestas en marcha por administraciones y empresas en colaboración público-privada, así como para confirmar el avance del sector para dotar de inteligencia también a los territorios rurales”.
La importancia de establecer una coordinación estratégica entre todos los actores; las ventajas de la replicabilidad de los proyectos; la necesidad de definir nuevos procesos y la calidad de los datos con un objetivo de mejora de los servicios públicos fueron algunas de las cuestiones clave abordadas en la cita.
El Congreso contó con una alta representación institucional. Fue inaugurado por el director General de Red.es, David Cierco Jiménez de Parga, y por el secretario general de la Federación Española de Municipios y Provincias (FEMP), Carlos Daniel Casares Díaz, junto con Inés Leal, directora del Congreso Ciudades Inteligentes.
Durante su intervención, Inés Leal afirmó que “el éxito del Congreso no hubiera sido posible sin el alto nivel de compromiso y participación generosa de los autores de las comunicaciones, los miembros del comité técnico, los apoyos institucionales, las entidades colaboradoras, las empresas patrocinadoras y de los cerca de 500 congresistas acreditados. Entre todos hemos conseguido que el V Congreso Ciudades Inteligentesrefuerce su calidad y representatividad, manteniendo su carácter abierto y colaborativo”.
“Un programa actual de calidad”
El programa del Congreso se caracterizó por su alta calidad, la actualidad de las temáticas y la relevancia de los 38 ponentes, y tuvo como protagonistas temas clave como las tecnologías habilitadoras, la innovación urbana, la financiación de los proyectos y, sobre todo, los retos a los que nos enfrentamos en nuestro desarrollo futuro, apuntaron desde la organización del evento.
En la primera Ponencia Magistral, Antonio Alcolea Muñoz, subdirector general de Fomento de la Sociedad de la Información de la SEAD, analizó los avances y novedades de la Estrategia Española de Ciudades y Territorios Inteligentes. A continuación, en la segunda Ponencia Magistral, Red.es, con su director de Servicios Públicos Digitales, Francisco Javier García Vieira, realizó un balance de las convocatorias desarrolladas por la entidad pública para el impulso de la Ciudades y Territorios Inteligentes.
Representantes de administraciones públicas, expertos y empresas del sector participaron en las tres mesas redondas del Congreso para debatir sobre diferentes aspectos estratégicos para el desarrollo y fomento de las ciudades y territorios inteligentes.
En ellas se analizaron los retos tecnológicos, económicos y sociales de la implantación del concepto de ciudad/territorio inteligente en nuestro país, haciendo hincapié en las tecnologías habilitadoras digitales necesarias y en las cuestiones prioritarias para el desarrollo económico urbano y rural y sus implicaciones sociales. Asimismo, se abordaron las barreras y oportunidades de la financiación y sostenibilidad de las inversiones en los proyectos de ciudad/territorio inteligente, así como el papel de las nuevas tecnologías en la implementación de la Agenda Urbana 2030.
A su vez, se llevó a cabo la exposición oral de las 12 ponencias seleccionadas por el Comité Técnico, de entre las 101 presentadas en el Llamamiento de Comunicaciones y Proyectos de Ciudad Inteligente. Las ponencias versaron sobre las áreas temáticas del Congreso, como las tecnologías habilitadoras; Inteligencia Artificial e IoT; así como la movilidad urbana, la innovación, la seguridad y los destinos turísticos inteligentes, entre otros asuntos. Además, los congresistas disfrutaron de la exposición de los Proyectos de Ciudad Inteligente presentados por los ayuntamientos de Mataró (Barcelona), Rivas Vaciamadrid (Comunidad de Madrid) y Sant Feliu de Llobregat (Barcelona).
Finalmente, el V Congreso Ciudades Inteligentes fue clausurado por Roberto Sánchez, director general de Telecomunicaciones y Tecnologías de la Información de la Secretaría de Estado para el Avance Digital (SEAD), Ángel Niño Quesada, concejal de Innovación y Empleo del Ayuntamiento de Madrid y la directora del Congreso, Inés Leal.
Mejorar la coordinación de los actores implicados
Como conclusión al evento, se destacó la necesidad de coordinación de todos los actores del sector, imprescindible para abordar la complejidad de los retos sociales, económicos y medioambientales que deben afrontarse en la actualidad “en nuestras ciudades y en nuestra sociedad”. Sin duda, esta edición del Congreso ha supuesto una nueva oportunidad para reflexionar sobre qué pueden aportar las nuevas tecnologías y la inteligencia a nuestras ciudades y a sus ciudadanos.
La directora del Congreso anunció la celebración del VI Congreso Ciudades Inteligentes en 2020 y animó a continuar trabajando hasta entonces para seguir avanzando en los objetivos planteados durante la jornada.
Asimismo, el V Congreso Ciudades Inteligentes contó con una amplia zona expositiva donde los congresistas pudieron conocer sistemas y soluciones enfocadas a las ciudades inteligentes por parte de los patrocinadores del evento.
Se trató de “una relevante representación empresarial de compañías líderes, cuyo principal objetivo es contribuir a que las smart cities sean una realidad viable gracias a sus soluciones y servicios. En este espacio los asistentes también pudieron disfrutar del networking con los numerosos profesionales del sector asistentes al evento”, describieron fuentes de Tecma Red.
