Estas tecnologías incluyen inteligencia artificial, machine learning y RPA (automatización robótica de procesos), junto con la gestión de las actividades humanas a través del BPM (gestión de procesos de negocios). Los datos muestran una gran desconexión entre los beneficios empresariales de la automatización inteligente y la capacidad las organizaciones para ser conscientes de estos beneficios.
Necesidad empresarial
De acuerdo con las conclusiones del informe, más de la mitad (54 %) de las compañías no han activado una estrategia de Intelligent Automation por el momento. Esto ocurre pese a que todos los líderes de TI coinciden en que la automatización inteligente tiene un enorme potencial para sus negocios:
El 86 % de los ejecutivos encuestados dice que la integración de procesos inteligentes mejorarán la experiencia de los clientes.
El 92 % opina que ayudará a que la experiencia del empleado sea más gratificante.
El 69 % dice que conducirá a la monetización de nuevos ingresos.
Líderes IT de compañías en Norteamérica y Europa están experimentando una gran urgencia en lo que respecta a aprovechar las ventajas de la automatización inteligente. Sin embargo, la mayoría admite que sus compañías no están capacitadas para hacerlo:
El 86 % de los directivos entrevistados consideran que el trabajo realizado por el hombre, los sistemas de inteligencia artificial y la RPA “deberían estar bien integrados en 2020”.
Solo el 12 % de los directivos opina que sus compañías “están haciendo esto realmente bien ya”.
Complejidad y falta de estrategia se interponen en el camino
Aunque ya hay implementaciones de tecnologías de automatización en marcha, la falta de estrategia y de alineación con los objetivos de negocios da lugar a implementaciones que funcionan de forma aislada y equipos de desarrollo superados por la situación. De ese 46 % de empresas que tienen implementada alguna forma de automatización inteligente, solo el 50 % ellos tienen un departamento de TI de más de 20.000 empleados.
Estas son otras conclusiones destacadas:
El 89 % de los encuestados dice que sus organizaciones luchan para poder adaptarse a la tecnología.
El 80 % dice que sus organizaciones “fallan a la hora de entender cómo la inteligencia artificial lo cambiaría todo”
El 66 % tiene dificultades a la hora de integrar inversiones y habilidades existentes en nuevas tecnologías como la inteligencia artificial y el RPA.
La necesidad de cambiar la cultura IT (44 %) y las prácticas de desarrollo de aplicaciones (31 %) son dos de los puntos más comentados.
“En pocas palabras, estas tecnologías son demasiado difíciles de utilizar para todos, excepto para los equipos de TI más grandes”, ha explicado Matt Calkins, CEO de Appian. “El desarrollo Low-Code elimina la complejidad y facilita la alineación entre los negocios y el equipo de TI, lo que acelera la capacidad que tiene la empresa para aprovechar la automatización inteligente”.
