El negocio digital ha alcanzado un punto de inflexión en EMEA: el 35% de los CIO encuestados en EMEA están en condiciones de escalar sus iniciativas digitales, un aumento del 20% respecto al año pasado, según la Encuesta Global Anual del CIO global de Gartner. «Los CIO de EMEA están dando el ejemplo cuando se trata de cosechar los resultados de las iniciativas digitales», afirma Andy Rowsell-Jones, vicepresidente y analista de Gartner. “El éxito en la evolución de los esfuerzos a escala es mayor en EMEA que entre sus homólogos CIO en América del Norte, América Latina y Asia / Pacífico. Además, para alentar la aplicación de lo ‘digital’ a escala dentro de su organización, el 64% de los CIO de EMEA fomenta una mejor colaboración con la empresa y el 46% reduce los silos y la complejidad interna».
Los analistas de Gartner presentaron los resultados de la encuesta durante el Simposio de Gartner / ITxpo, que tiene lugar en Barcelona hasta el jueves. La encuesta de la Agenda CIO de Gartner 2019 recopiló datos de 3.102 CIO, incluidos 921 en 53 países de EMEA y todas las industrias principales. La conclusión es que se invertirá más dinero en TI en el futuro, ya que se prevé que los presupuestos de TI en EMEA aumenten en un 3,3%, en promedio, en 2019. Paralelamente, la madurez del negocio digital en EMEA se puede determinar al observar los tipos de trabajos que existen internamente.
En EMEA, el 31% de los encuestados del CIO apreció que sus organizaciones tienen un arquitecto en cloud, el 17% que tiene un líder en el lugar de trabajo digital y el 13% que contrató a un diseñador de algoritmos. Casi la mitad de los CIO de EMEA reportan un cambio en el modelo de negocio. La inteligencia artificial y los datos y análisis, tecnologías innovadoras
Las iniciativas digitales son la prioridad empresarial número uno para el 29% de los CIO en EMEA durante este año y el próximo, lo que significa que el gasto en tecnologías disruptivas aumentará. La encuesta reveló que el 44% de los CIO de EMEA dirigirán la mayor parte de sus nuevos gastos a inteligencia empresarial / datos y análisis, el 41% a ciberseguridad y el 37% a iniciativas empresariales digitales (incluido el marketing). Estas serán las tres áreas tecnológicas más financiadas en 2019.
La inteligencia artificial (IA) se sitúa en el sexto lugar en cuanto a incremento de gastos o nuevas partidas para 2019, pero se identificó como el área de tecnología de mayor cambio de juego, seguida de cerca por datos y análisis. Los datos y análisis, históricamente el líder en este sentido, ocuparon el segundo lugar este año, identificados por el 23% de los encuestados de EMEA. Los resultados de la encuesta muestran una maduración de los casos de uso de IA en EMEA. Este año, las interfaces de voz (específicamente los chatbots) y la optimización de procesos se encuentran entre las cinco principales tecnologías que los CIO de EMEA ya han implementado o implementarán en los próximos 12 meses. «La IA se ha convertido en la corriente principal Ahora es una tecnología que interactúa con los clientes y el personal de operaciones internas», según Rowsell-Jones.
