Passivhaus Institute, que ha celebrado recientemente su vigésima segunda Conferencia Internacional en Múnich, ha premiado en este marco a cinco proyectos como los más relevantes a nivel mundial de entre todos los que han recibido el certificado Passivhaus en el último año. Dos de estos proyectos son españoles.
Concretamente, los proyectos españoles premiados son el edificio Residencial Scenia II del Grupo Lobe, ubicado en Montecanal (Zaragoza), que cuenta con 26 viviendas; y la primera Torre Bolueta ubicada en el barrio bilbaíno de Bolueta que, promovida por Visesa, consta de 171 viviendas de protección oficial y, desde el pasado sábado, es el edificio Passivhaus certificado más alto del mundo, por encima de la torre Cornell de Nueva York.
Durante la clausura de la Conferencia Internacional en Múnich, el Dr. Wolfgang Feist, fundador del Passivhaus Institut y uno de los expertos más reconocidos del mundo en construcción energéticamente eficiente, destacó la labor que la Plataforma Edificación Passivhaus está desempeñando en España y recordó la celebración su próxima Conferencia Española Passivhaus en Zaragoza, además de reconocer el importante avance del estándar Passivhaus en España.
Según Adelina Uriarte, presidenta de la Plataforma Española Edificación Passivhaus, “el que, entre cinco únicos galardones a escala mundial, dos hayan sido logrados por proyectos españoles es una muestra más de la calidad en construcción sobre estándar Passivhaus que se da en nuestro país. La experiencia y los profesionales, existen, pero todavía es necesario que se amplíe y formalice el compromiso por parte de las administraciones públicas y de los agentes políticos para impulsar los ECCN y defender las buenas prácticas en construcción energéticamente eficiente. Nuestra responsabilidad, en este sentido, es continuar trabajando por ampliar este compromiso. Una labor que, sin duda, no cesa y está alcanzando grandes éxitos como bien ha reconocido el Dr. Feist”.
Los edificios -viviendas, oficinas, educativos, de ocio e institucionales- son los responsables de alrededor del 40% de la energía que se consume. Una energía que, según su grado de utilización, su fuente de procedencia y la cantidad de partículas contaminantes que pueda generar su extracción, transporte y utilización, tiene mayor o menor incidencia en el cambio climático que está sufriendo nuestro planeta.
Por el contrario, un edificio con certificación Passivhaus garantiza el consumo casi nulo de energía para la climatización permitiendo un ahorro energético de hasta el 90% frente a un edificio convencional. Además, disminuye sensiblemente la huella de carbono y otros daños ambientales derivados del derroche de energía.
Cinco principios básicos
Una edificación pasiva es un tipo de construcción enfocada a la máxima reducción de la energía necesaria para su climatización, logrando mantener una temperatura constante y confortable mediante la optimización de los recursos existentes. En este sentido, existen cinco principios básicos para el diseño y la construcción bajo el estándar Passivhaus: aislante térmico de gran espesor, ventanas y vidrios de altas prestaciones, ausencia de puentes térmicos, ausencia de infiltraciones de aire y ventilación controlada, para responder a los criterios de salubridad que exige la normativa, con recuperador de calor.
Reivindicando el estándar Passivhaus en España para cumplir la normativa europea
La Directiva Europea 2010/31 exige a los estados miembros de la Unión que todos sus edificios públicos sean Edificios de Consumo Casi Nulo a partir del 31 de diciembre de 2018 y todos los edificios, sin excepción, lo sean a partir del 31 de diciembre de 2020. Por ello urge legislar para garantizar en España la edificación energéticamente eficiente.
En España aún no se ha hecho la transposición de la Directiva. Sin embargo, el pasado mes de junio la administración empezó a reaccionar con una definición de ECCN como aquel que “satisfaga los requisitos mínimos que en cada momento se determinen en el Código Técnico de la Edificación”. Según explica Adelina Uriarte, presidenta de PEP, “este resultado ambiguo, inexacto y claramente insuficiente, en lugar de ayudar, creemos que genera confusión, lo que supone una traba importante al avance hacia el cumplimiento de las exigencias europeas en materia de construcción sostenible”.
Desde PEP se reivindica la estandarización en España de la construcción de ECCN sobre la base del estándar Passivhaus, uno de los más completos, reconocidos y exigentes del mundo en edificación energéticamente eficiente: una demanda de energía para calefacción y refrigeración menor o igual a 15kWh/m² al año; una demanda de energía primaria menor o igual a 120kWh/m² al año; y la práctica ausencia de infiltraciones de aire en el interior de la vivienda o edificio (menor o igual a 0,6 renovaciones/ hora a 50 pascales).
