El 36% de las compañías españolas han incorporado tecnologías de Inteligencia Artificial (IA), un aumento significativo del 29% desde 2022. Así lo destaca el informe independiente encargado por Amazon Web Services (AWS) y realizado por Strand Partners.
Sostener este ritmo de adopción de IA podría generar un incremento de 55.000 millones de euros en el Valor Añadido Bruto (GVA) de España para el año 2030. Además, el aumento en la adopción de tecnologías digitales, podría tener un impacto económico total estimado de 282.000 millones de euros para la economía española en 2030, en comparación con los 228.000 millones de euros proyectados en el estudio del año pasado.
No obstante, el informe destaca que para aprovechar plenamente el potencial de la IA, los países europeos, incluyendo España, deben abordar tres áreas críticas: crear un ambiente propicio para la innovación, abordar la brecha de habilidades digitales y asegurar que empresas de todos los tamaños tengan acceso a las últimas tecnologías.
«Las empresas reconocen los beneficios de la IA para su crecimiento y productividad y la mayoría de ciudadanos cree que la IA transformará sectores como la sanidad y el entretenimiento. Para aprovechar todo el potencial de la IA, es necesario que España proporcione apoyo al impulso de las habilidades digitales y a la certidumbre regulatoria para lograr materializar las ambiciones de sus empresas y ciudadanos», comenta Suzana Curic, Country Lead de AWS en España y Portugal.
La influencia positiva de la Inteligencia Artificial en las empresas y organizaciones españolas es innegable. Un 36% de estas entidades ha implementado esta tecnología, lo que representa un incremento del 29% desde septiembre de 2022. Aquellas que han adoptado servicios de IA reportan diversas ventajas, como la agilización de procesos empresariales (79%), reducción de costos (79%) y una mayor eficiencia (88%). Además, el 72% de estas empresas indica que la adopción de IA ha contribuido al aumento de sus ingresos.
Las empresas españolas también la están utilizando de manera más avanzada. Un 64% de las entidades que la han adoptado emplean IA generativa o modelos de lenguaje grandes (LLM). Además, la mayoría de ellas (61%) está convencida de que dicha tecnología transformará completamente o en gran medida sus respectivos sectores en los próximos cinco años, cifra similar al promedio europeo (63%).
No obstante, actualmente son las grandes empresas las que más utilizan la IA y otras tecnologías digitales (46%), en comparación con solo el 33% de las pequeñas y medianas empresas (pymes).
Las empresas españolas lideran en conocimiento y adopción de la informática en la nube (cloud computing) en comparación con sus homólogas europeas. Un 69% de las empresas españolas están muy familiarizadas con la nube, en contraste con solo el 39% de las europeas. La adopción del cloud ofrece diversos beneficios, como facilitar el trabajo remoto o flexible (50%) y mejorar la seguridad en línea (49%).
En 2023, la adopción de la nube entre las empresas españolas creció al 32%, un aumento del 19% desde 2022. El 70% de estas empresas reconocen la importancia de tener centros de datos en el país para su actividad, y el 72% prefiere trabajar con centros de datos ubicados en España.
AWS está comprometido con la soberanía digital en Europa. Su Nube Soberana Europea permite a gobiernos y sectores regulados almacenar información confidencial en la infraestructura de AWS, desarrollada por empleados residentes en la UE. Además, la Región de Infraestructura en España, ubicada en Aragón, permite a los clientes ejecutar cargas de trabajo y almacenar datos de forma segura, con un impacto económico estimado de 1.800 millones de euros en el PIB español a lo largo de 10 años, respaldando más de 1.300 puestos de trabajo anualmente. En total, AWS ha invertido más de 21.000 millones de euros en el futuro económico y digital de Europa entre 2017 y 2022.
La falta de capacidades digitales es el punto citado con mayor frecuencia cuando se pregunta por los retos que evitan que las empresas puedan utilizar todo el potencial de la tecnología. Tan solo una minoría (18%) de las empresas españolas comenta que no tiene problemas a la hora de encontrar nuevos empleados con buen nivel en competencias digitales, en línea con la media europea (19%). A su vez, tan solo el 25 % de las empresas afirma que les resulta fácil formar a sus empleados para obtener los niveles necesarios de competencias digitales.
De todas las compañías que reportan dificultades para encontrar nuevos empleados con habilidades digitales adecuadas, el 38% afirma haber sufrido un crecimiento empresarial más lento como consecuencia de ello, en comparación con el 29% europeo. Dado que la Comisión Europea estima que sufrirá un déficit de ocho millones en su objetivo de contar con al menos 20 millones de personas trabajando como especialistas en el sector TIC para 2030,3 abordar la brecha de capacidades digitales constituye una prioridad esencial para la democratización de IA en Europa.
