Hace un año, en estas mismas páginas, hablábamos del desafío de la digitalización en el sector público y de las ventajas de las nuevas tecnologías disruptivas, cada vez más relevantes para la sociedad. Doce meses después, los datos respaldan nuestro compromiso y nos motivan a seguir avanzando en la senda de la digitalización.
Recientemente, la Comisión Europea ha publicado el ‘Informe de la Década Digital 2023’, situando a España a la vanguardia europea en el proceso de digitalización y conectividad, superando la media en la mayoría de los indicadores. Para ilustrar este logro, el 64% de la población cuenta con habilidades digitales básicas, diez puntos por encima de la media de la UE (54%), y hemos alcanzado un 86% de digitalización de servicios públicos para ciudadanos, en comparación con el 77% de la media europea.
Además, aunque queda un camino por recorrer, es un orgullo haberse posicionado como el tercer país con mayor presencia de mujeres en el campo de las TIC.
Esta incesante evolución tecnológica consolida a entidades como Red.es como un pilar fundamental para impulsar estos desafíos, trabajando incansablemente para promover de forma sostenible la transformación digital de la economía, la sociedad, los servicios públicos y los territorios de nuestro país. Nos esforzamos por ser un referente a nivel nacional e internacional.
En sintonía con los objetivos marcados en la Agenda España Digital 2026, hacemos un balance muy positivo de los últimos meses, durante los cuales hemos cosechado excelentes resultados en programas que abarcan diversas áreas. Así, hemos desplegado nuestra actividad en el impulso a la economía digital, a la innovación, a la formación para jóvenes y profesionales y al apoyo a pymes mediante el fomento de un uso eficiente e intensivo de las TIC. También hemos apoyado la implantación de la tecnología en los servicios públicos de las administraciones, especialmente en sanidad y educación, y en el desarrollo de ciudades y territorios inteligentes.
Destacamos nuestro programa más ambicioso, Kit Digital, que, dotado con 3.067 millones de euros de fondos Next Generation, ha concedido alrededor de 300.000 bonos digitales, convirtiéndose en el programa de ayudas a la digitalización de pymes más demandado en la historia de España. Esto ha revolucionado la forma de gestionar procesos, facilitando la solicitud a los beneficiarios bajo el lema “cero papeles, ” con 24 robots que han conseguido cifras excepcionales, con más de 6 millones de comprobaciones automáticas de requisitos. Además, se ha logrado que el tiempo medio de comprobación por expediente pase de 3 horas de media a tan sólo 3 minutos.
Este antes y después se ha replicado en otras áreas y programas de Red.es, y ha transformado la forma de gestionar en la administración en aras de la agilidad y simplificación.
La transformación digital se ha consolidado como una necesidad primordial para nuestras pymes, a las que brindamos asesoramiento y formación a través de más de 150 Oficinas Acelera Pyme en todo el territorio nacional, 56 de ellas en poblaciones rurales con menos de 20.000 habitantes.
Además, impulsamos proyectos que fomentan el desarrollo de la oferta tecnológica, como iniciativas de contenidos digitales y la última convocatoria de IA, que destina 105 millones de euros a proyectos de investigación y desarrollo, con un total de 217 empresas beneficiarias, la mayoría de ellas pymes, con propuestas innovadoras en agricultura, sanidad o educación.
Pero lo que realmente distingue el trabajo de Red.es es nuestro compromiso con la proyección internacional de nuestras empresas tecnológicas. Participamos activamente en ferias, misiones y sesiones, y durante los últimos 10 años hemos organizado el Pabellón de España en el MWC Barcelona. En 2024, seleccionaremos hasta 45 empresas de base tecnológica que representarán el potencial de nuestro país en la economía digital.
Sin embargo, en Red.es entendemos que la digitalización no es solo responsabilidad de las empresas, sino que el desarrollo del talento digital y la mejora en las competencias TIC son igualmente cruciales. Por tanto, destinamos recursos significativos para formar a jóvenes y desempleados, brindándoles herramientas para competir en un mercado laboral cada vez más globalizado y exigente.
En el ámbito de la educación, también enfocamos nuestros esfuerzos en los centros educativos. Hemos proporcionado acceso a internet de banda ancha ultrarrápida a miles de centros públicos a través de Escuelas Conectadas y hemos entregado más de 550.000 equipos en colegios de toda España con la iniciativa Educa en Digital, beneficiando especialmente al alumnado vulnerable.
La transformación digital se extiende a muchos más ámbitos, y tenemos resultados notables en Sanidad y Servicios Sociales. Proyectos como el ‘Programa de Salud y Bienestar Social 2014-2020’ están promoviendo la alfabetización digital, el e-aprendizaje, la e-inclusión, la e-salud y las soluciones digitales con un presupuesto de más de 62 millones de euros.
También hemos trabajado intensamente en las infraestructuras de telecomunicaciones, impulsando proyectos como las ayudas de banda ancha de 30 megabits en zonas rurales y pilotos 5G, con una inversión de 22.5 millones de euros y más de 120 casos de uso en diversos ámbitos como la agricultura, la energía, la sanidad y la seguridad. Todo ello, apostando por los datos compartidos para mejorar la transparencia, la eficiencia y la toma de decisiones. En la actualidad, con más de 72,000 datos abiertos, nos hemos convertido en un referente a nivel internacional.
Todos los datos anteriores son ejemplos de los que todos los equipos de Red.es estamos muy orgullosos. Porque sentimos que contribuimos a construir una sociedad en la que nadie se quede atrás. Un futuro digital prometedor nos aguarda, y juntos, seguiremos impulsando la transformación digital en España para hacerlo realidad.
