El 72% de las organizaciones de España afirma que tener los datos tanto en la nube como en entornos locales complica la extracción de información de valor, según un estudio de Cloudera.
Un nuevo estudio de Cloudera revela que las organizaciones estiman actualmente que no están utilizando un tercio (33%) de sus datos de manera eficaz. A nivel español, esta cifra se mantiene similar a la de la región de EMEA, con un 28%. Para el estudio se entrevistaron a 850 responsables de IT de empresas de más de 1.000 empleados de diferentes sectores de la región EMEA entre marzo y abril de 2023.
El 72% de los encuestados en España coinciden en que el hecho de que los datos se almacenen en distintos entornos locales y en la nube dificulta la extracción de valor de todos los datos de su organización. Sin embargo, más de dos tercios (71%) almacenan actualmente los datos en un entorno híbrido, lo que significa que utilizan el on-premise/nube privada y la nube pública. Además, siete de cada diez encuestados de las organizaciones tienen actualmente un modelo multicloud y un 65% trabajan con dos o más hyperscalers.

La investigación revela que nueve de cada diez responsables de IT encuestados (94%) planean migrar más datos a la nube en los próximos tres años, citando como fuerzas impulsoras la mejora de la accesibilidad a los datos (53%), la optimización del almacenamiento de datos y las copias de seguridad (46%) y el incremento de la escalabilidad (37%). En este tercer aspecto destaca España por encima de la media de EMEA (28%).
Sin embargo, al mismo tiempo, el 72% (76% a nivel EMEA) tiene previsto repatriar algunos datos a entornos locales durante el mismo periodo. Las principales razones por las que las empresas españolas no trasladan más datos a la nube son la preocupación por la ciberseguridad relacionada con el incumplimiento de las normativas (72%), frente al 52% de la región, seguida de los datos y el cumplimiento de las normativas (71%), muy por encima de la media del 55% de toda la región, y el temor a la dependencia de la nube (50%). Por el contrario, la tercera razón que argumentan los responsables de IT en EMEA es la reducción de costes (34%).
A nivel nacional, el 71% de los departamentos de finanzas son los que más necesitan herramientas de análisis, seguido de Ventas (57%), IT (55%), Marketing (48%), Operaciones (41%) y RRHH (23%). Sin embargo, el 69% de los españoles cree que su organización tiene demasiadas herramientas de análisis de datos y están preocupados por la dispersión, y menos de la mitad (43%) están totalmente seguros de saber cuántas herramientas de análisis de datos hay desplegadas en su organización. Aquellos que están seguros del número de herramientas de análisis de datos desplegadas en su organización afirman que utilizan cinco herramientas diferentes.
En general, la investigación revela que los silos de datos seguirán representando un reto para muchas organizaciones. Un 58% de los responsables de IT en España afirman que los silos de datos impiden a su organización tomar decisiones en tiempo real, mientras que el 59% cree que su organización ha perdido dinero al no poder tomar decisiones con rapidez debido a los silos de datos.
