Según se desprende de la nueva ‘Guía de Gasto Mundial en Seguridad’ de IDC, la consultora prevé que el gasto mundial en soluciones y servicios de seguridad sea de 219.000 millones de dólares en 2023, lo que supone un aumento del 12,1% respecto a 2022. Asimismo, espera que las inversiones en hardware, software y servicios relacionados con la ciberseguridad alcancen casi los 300.000 millones de dólares en 2026, impulsadas por la continua amenaza de los ciberataques, las exigencias de proporcionar un entorno de trabajo híbrido seguro y la necesidad de cumplir con los requisitos de privacidad y gobernanza de datos.
«El gasto en productos y servicios de seguridad seguirá superando el crecimiento del gasto general en TI», afirma Serena Da Rold, directora asociada de investigación de IDC Data & Analytics. «Casi todas las industrias y segmentos de tamaño de empresa verán un crecimiento bajo de dos dígitos hasta 2026, impulsado por la expansión de los despliegues de nubes y contenedores, la necesidad de asegurar el acceso remoto a los recursos y los requisitos de cumplimiento de la legislación sobre privacidad y protección de datos. Tanto los bancos como los fabricantes discretos invertirán más o menos a partes iguales en software y servicios, y los mayores gastos se destinarán a servicios de seguridad gestionados para protegerse de los ciberataques. En comparación, los Servicios Profesionales verán inversiones notablemente mayores en software con un enfoque en la gobernanza, el riesgo y el cumplimiento (GRC) y la seguridad de los puntos finales. El gasto en servicios también será el área más importante para el Gobierno Federal/Central. Combinados, estos cuatro sectores representarán más de un tercio de todo el gasto en seguridad en 2023. Los sectores en los que se espera un crecimiento más rápido del gasto durante el periodo de previsión 2021-2026 son los servicios de inversión y valores, las telecomunicaciones y la banca.
El software será el mayor grupo tecnológico en 2023, representando casi la mitad de todo el gasto en seguridad de este año. Endpoint Security será la principal categoría de software, seguida de Identity and Digital Trust software y Cybersecurity Analytics, Intelligence, Response, and Orchestration software. Los servicios serán el segundo grupo tecnológico más importante, encabezado por la categoría de servicios de seguridad gestionados, con un gasto previsto de 42.000 millones de dólares este año.
