La firma de análisis y consultoría IDC pronostica un crecimiento sostenido de las aplicaciones empresariales con vistas al 2026 proveniente, en su mayoría, de las inversiones en ‘software’ de nube pública.
El porvenir de las aplicaciones empresariales se dibuja fructífero. Según una nueva previsión de la firma de análisis y consultoría IDC, los ingresos mundiales por aplicaciones empresariales pasarán de los 279.000 millones de dólares registrados en 2022 a los 385.200 previstos para 2026. Unos datos que evidencian una tasa compuesta de crecimiento anual a cinco años del 8%. Así, tal y como ha avalado la consultora, la mayor parte del citado crecimiento provendrá de las inversiones en software de nube pública. De hecho, se espera que represente casi dos tercios de todos los ingresos por aplicaciones empresariales en 2026.
Aunque el proceso de migración de las aplicaciones locales a la nube puede llevar años, los proveedores de software empresarial y sus clientes continuarán la transición, ya que se trata de una parte esencial de las operaciones empresariales en el mundo digital. Tanto es así que las empresas que no persigan esta tecnología sufrirán pérdidas “debido a los profundos costes de oportunidad a medida que sus competidores adopten las tecnologías en la nube y el uso de interfaces de programación de aplicaciones (API), quedando fuera del alcance de los holdouts tecnológicos con soluciones locales o caseras”.
“A las empresas ya no les basta con sentarse y confiar en su deuda tecnológica de activos de software y hardware para mantener la empresa en funcionamiento. En el mundo digital, el software empresarial necesita innovar constantemente para mantenerse al día con la demanda de velocidad, escala y un negocio resistente», asegura Heather Hershey, directora de investigación de Comercio Digital Internacional en IDC. «Las organizaciones deben invertir en nuevas herramientas para mantener su cartera de aplicaciones actualizada mientras avanzan hacia la era digital, automatizando todos los procesos al tiempo que aprovechan la innovación y una gran cantidad de datos para convertirse en una empresa más creativa y resistente en el citado ámbito”.
Más allá de la actual migración a la nube, IDC ha identificado otros desarrollos significativos que están impulsando el crecimiento del mercado de aplicaciones empresariales. SaaS y las aplicaciones basadas en la nube, modulares e inteligentes, ya no son agradables de tener, sino que son esenciales para el negocio. Las organizaciones que quieran mantenerse en el negocio necesitan un software basado en inteligencia artificial (IA) que esté habilitado para la nube y brinde las citadas capacidades.
Por otro lado, la tecnología de interfaz programable de aplicaciones seguirá siendo la columna vertebral del mercado de aplicaciones empresariales. Las API siempre resonarán como una inversión sólida para las empresas que entienden el papel fundamental que desempeñan en la conexión de todas las bases de código dispares que conforman el mundo moderno. Además, la migración progresiva a la nube con el aumento de TaskApps continuará, especialmente en las empresas B2B. Las TaskApps y las herramientas de desarrollo low-code/no-code se están utilizando para cerrar brechas, ampliar procesos o cambiar el negocio a un ritmo más rápido.
Las nuevas normativas mundiales sobre privacidad y ética de los datos han cambiado la forma en que las organizaciones recopilan y utilizan los datos, lo que ha llevado a la gobernanza al primer plano de la conversación. El cumplimiento se ha convertido en un factor diferenciador para las empresas que priorizan la fiabilidad.
