En los últimos años, el sector de la banca ha vivido un importante proceso de digitalización, hasta el punto de convertirse en uno de los sectores que más avanzados se encuentran en este proceso de transformación. Esta estrategia de digitalizaciones, motivada por poder hacer frente a la pandemia y permitir a sus clientes seguir operando, ha supuesto que la mayoría de las transacciones se realicen ahora en el entorno digital.
En este sentido, según el último Informe sobre el sector bancario español de Funcas, la inversión en tecnología en el sector ha crecido un 71,8 % en los últimos cinco años. Una inversión muy bien percibida por los usuarios en nuestro país y que se traduce en el uso generalizado de la banca digital. El último índice MPIx de Smartme Analytics, concluye que en el último año el uso de las apps de banca ha crecido un 24,8%, en total el 84,5% de la población española digital.
La rápida evolución de la tecnología, la aparición de nuevos competidores y las expectativas de los clientes, ahora acostumbrados a un sector innovador y digital en tiempo real, que demandan todavía más facilidades de la mano de la digitalización, crean nuevas oportunidades que el sector debe abordar de la mano de la tecnología. Por ello, Entelgy, The BusinessTech Consultancy, señala los retos que la nueva banca digital ha de abordar para mantener el éxito de su proceso de transformación digital.
Nunca antes han existido tantas herramientas para analizar el comportamiento de los clientes, e incluso para adelantarse a sus necesidades. La implantación de la banca digital genera una gran cantidad de información sobre los clientes: tendencias de uso, perfiles o preferencias, lo que se conoce como huella digital.
El reto al que se enfrenta la banca en este sentido es conseguir aprovechar esos datos y convertirlos en información de valor que pueda utilizar en la toma de decisiones del negocio. Para ello es necesario que los bancos implanten soluciones de Big Data, pero que no se limiten simplemente a recopilación y almacenamiento, sino que permitan sacar conclusiones que les ayuden en la tarea de conocer más a sus consumidores.
En los últimos años el sector tiende hacia soluciones de hiperpersonalización que lleve a entender de manera individual a cada cliente de manera automatizada y eficiente para poder mejorar la calidad y experiencia de usuarios, ofreciéndole productos totalmente adecuados a sus necesidades. Saber detectar estas necesidades en tiempo real y manejar el dato de forma personalizada, será clave para fidelizar y captar nuevos clientes, especialmente si se consigue antes de la competencia.
La llegada de las fintech revolucionó por completo el sector financiero. La entrada de nuevos actores en un mercado que hasta el momento había estado totalmente dominado por compañías con años de experiencia, catalizó la digitalización del sector y obligó a las actores tradicionales a adaptarse a una nueva realidad en la que se ofrecían nuevos productos sin comisiones ni cobros por servicio.
Esto se presenta como uno de los grandes retos de la banca, pues junto con la obligación de implementar bajos tipos de interés tras la crisis financiera mundial de 2008, ha deteriorado notablemente la rentabilidad del sector. Con un sector cada vez más competitivo, la banca apuesta por reducir costes gracias a la digitalización.
La consultora Gartner afirma que las organizaciones podrían reducir sus costes operativos en un 30% gracias a la hiperautomatización junto a un replanteamiento de los flujos de procesos. Mientras que otros estudios del Banco de España apuntan a que el “machine learning” aplicado en áreas como el control del riesgo de crédito, pueden redundar en un ahorro significativo de entre un 12,4% y un 17%.
Los clientes, ahora acostumbrados a los beneficios y comodidades de la banda digital, son cada vez más exigentes y necesitan una atención más rápida y personalizada. En este sentido, el reto para el sector es ser capaces de cumplir con sus demandas a la vez que sus operaciones se desplazan al entorno online y cierran sucursales físicas.
Esta relación es totalmente compatible gracias a la implantación de tecnologías como chatbot, cada vez más comunes y más capaces de mantener conversaciones y encontrar soluciones a problemas. Esto permite pasar la primera fase del contacto sin necesidad de tener a una persona pendiente, resolviendo las cuestiones más sencillas y priorizando aquellas más complejas que necesiten una persona detrás.
El desplazamiento al entorno digital hace que proliferen también las amenazas, pero, a medida que estas tecnologías se desarrollan, se vuelven cada vez más sofisticadas y capaces de identificar las actividades aparentemente fraudulentas. Por ejemplo, aplicando tecnologías de Minería de Procesos, los sistemas antifraude podrán analizar las transacciones monetarias de pagos de créditos, movimientos de tarjetas o los patrones de compra, alertando cuando pueden parecer fraudulentas.
“La transformación digital no es solo un cambio técnico, debe ser un cambio integral que pase por la mentalidad empresarial, los procesos de negocio y la relación con nuestros clientes. El sector banca es el ejemplo de que la digitalización no puede sostenerse solo en implementar las tecnología, que una vez se empieza un transformación las compañías deber seguir trabajando por ser cada vez más eficientes, flexibles e innovadoras, y ese es el reto actual del sector” comentaba Javier Ferrari, Director de negocio de Servicios Financieros.
