Los proyectos de transformación digital muestran mejoras considerables, pero las empresas españolas siguen perdiendo una media de 2,67 millones de dólares en proyectos fallidos, atrasados o reducidos.
Couchbase ha publicado recientemente los resultados de su V encuesta anual sobre transformación digital en las empresas. El estudio, que ha contado con la participación de 650 líderes de TI a nivel global reveló que, a pesar de los retos a los que se han enfrentado en los dos últimos años, las compañías españolas mantienen su impulso en cuanto a transformación digital se refiere.
De hecho, el 86% afirma haber realizado mejoras significativas, transformadoras o incluso revolucionarias en la experiencia de usuario final a través de la transformación digital durante el último año. Y las previsiones son optimistas ya que, de media, las empresas tienen previsto aumentar su inversión en transformación digital en un 47% en los próximos 12 meses.
A pesar de ello, las compañías deben tener en consideración los retos a los que se enfrenta la transformación digital. El 76% de las empresas españolas vio como sus proyectos de transformación digital fracasaban, sufrían retrasos o se reducían en el último año, lo que supuso un coste medio de 2,67 millones de dólares. Por otro lado, el 72% de los encuestados afirman haberse visto impedidos de llevar a cabo los proyectos de transformación digital que querían implementar debido a factores externos como la falta de recursos (32%), la incapacidad de asegurar o mantenerse dentro del presupuesto (22%), o la falta de conocimiento de las tecnologías disponibles (20%).
“Considero que las empresas españolas deberían aprender de las lecciones que nos ha dejado la pandemia estos dos últimos años y abordar con decisión los retos a los que se enfrentan. De lo contrario, gran parte de ese aumento del 47% de la inversión puede desperdiciarse”, afirma Esaú Alonso, Country Manager de Couchbase para España y Portugal.
Los dos últimos años han tenido un impacto transformador en los equipos de TI. El 98% de las compañías encuestadas afirman haber implementado o investigado oportunidades de transformación digital que no habrían sido realistas a finales de 2019: desde la situación de la tecnología y los procesos heredados (52%) hasta el trabajo híbrido (50%) y el paso a la nube (48%). De igual forma, las empresas españolas manifestaron haber aprendido diferentes lecciones tras la pandemia: como la necesidad de modernizar las aplicaciones (50%), la importancia de apoyar el trabajo remoto e híbrido (48%) y la necesidad de invertir e investigar continuamente en tecnologías de transformación digital (48%).
Además, en el estudio se apunta que las formas de trabajar han cambiado. El 86% de las empresas confiesa que sus objetivos de transformación digital han cambiado fundamentalmente en los últimos dos años; el 96% ha acelerado sus estrategias de modernización de aplicaciones, el 92% ha cambiado la forma de presupuestar la transformación digital y otro 92% afirma que los proyectos de transformación digital de los últimos dos años representan cambios permanentes en la forma de operar o trabajar de su empresa.
Por último, el informe arroja luz sobre los usuarios finales, que se convierten en el centro de todo. Así, el 70% de los encuestados dijo que sus proyectos de transformación digital habían sido impulsados más por los cambios en el comportamiento de los usuarios que por la creación de nuevas oportunidades de negocio.
