El próximo año se intensificará el debate en torno a la ética de la inteligencia artificial, al tiempo que seguirá ganando partida el blockchain o las tecnologías de la llamada Web3.
El metaverso será, sin duda, uno de los protagonistas del próximo año, con inversiones millonarias, innovaciones y un valor de mercado que alcanzará los 800.000 millones de dólares en 2024, según Bloomberg Intelligence.
Para Paradigma Digital, experta en el diseño de productos digitales, el nacimiento de los metaversos está empezando y eso hace que surjan muchas preguntas: ¿Tiene sentido que haya distintos metaversos (cada uno perteneciente a una marca o empresa)? ¿Tendría sentido una especificación que permitiera la interacción entre los distintos metaversos?…
“La situación social, tecnológica y económica es diferente a la de hace unos años cuando surgieron ideas similares”, señala Alberto Grande, responsable del equipo de innovación en Paradigma. “Si entramos un poco más en detalle, probablemente hablaríamos de distintos entornos virtuales y si fuéramos al extremo de la definición deberíamos poder hacer ‘cualquier cosa en él’, desde trabajar, a actividades lúdicas o de ocio, y eso incluye desarrollar nuestro propio negocio en ellas”, pronostica.
Pero, más allá del metaverso, Paradigma desvela otras techdencias a seguir en 2022:
1. La transparencia y la ética de la inteligencia artificial. En los últimos años hemos asistido a un avance nunca visto en el desarrollo y aplicación de soluciones basadas en IA. “En muchas ocasiones intentamos resaltar su lado positivo, que es el que le da sentido y lo que realmente hace que evolucione y se popularice su uso, por eso debemos pararnos a reflexionar sobre ella y sus consecuencias”, advierte Grande.
Así, los expertos de Paradigma creen que en 2022 los algoritmos de IA van a ir acaparando más protagonismo en nuestro día, cada vez van a tomar decisiones más importantes, con mayor calado en nuestra vida, haciendo imprescindible encontrar formas de mejorar el control y el entendimiento de estos. La gran pregunta será: ¿hasta qué punto podemos confiar en la decisión o información que una IA nos aporta? De ahí que durante el próximo año veremos mucho debate y evolución alrededor del uso, construcción, entrenamiento y auditoría de los algoritmos que permitan su funcionamiento de forma transparente, ética y segura.
2. AIOps para la detección temprana de problemas. Muchas organizaciones tienen entornos tecnológicos complejos, llenos de sistemas distribuidos e interconectados que dan soporte a toda la operativa de negocio, convirtiéndose en la piedra angular que hace funcionar la maquinaria. Como consecuencia, el incremento en la complejidad de todos estos sistemas ha crecido casi de forma exponencial en los últimos años, produciendo un aumento similar en los esfuerzos necesarios por ‘mantenerlos en funcionamiento’ y en muchos casos por su coste.
“Nos encontramos ante una encrucijada: los sistemas de TI se han vuelto tan imprescindibles que cualquier tipo de fallo tiene consecuencias desastrosas y, al mismo tiempo, estos sistemas son tan difíciles de mantener en marcha que los fallos, en muchas ocasiones, son frecuentes, con lo que afectan de lleno a la operativa del negocio”, explica Grande. Esto va a hacer que AIOps tenga un alto impacto en el corto plazo al atacar principalmente dos problemas: la detección temprana de posibles problemas (se pueden generar patrones que permitan detectar posibles anomalías antes de que estas lleguen a convertirse en un fallo de verdad) y la automatización de los procedimientos de recuperación y puesta en marcha (sin la necesidad de programarlos expresamente y de forma individualizada).
3. La guerra de las nubes por el reemplazo de sistemas heredados. La pandemia ha revolucionado la forma en la que trabajamos, acelerando la digitalización forzosa de algunas compañías que, a principios de 2020, aún se estaban preguntando cómo iniciar su transformación digital y su camino hacia el cloud. “Cambios que históricamente se producían en varios años, o incluso décadas, han tenido que ser acometidos en pocos meses para no quedarse atrás frente a la competencia y dar respuesta a las nuevas necesidades de negocio”, señala Grande.
Toda esta situación inesperada ha precipitado la ejecución de planes de renovación de infraestructuras con millones de sistemas host y entornos monolíticos implantados en el core de las organizaciones. Por ello vamos a asistir a una guerra de las nubes, en la que, ante las necesidades y oportunidades de negocio, las grandes plataformas cloud se están posicionando con servicios y facilidades para, no sólo el movimiento de cargas de trabajo a la nube, sino para el replataformado completo de todos los servicios host como medida paliativa y mecanismo para facilitar su refactorización a medida que vaya siendo necesario.
4. Web3 y tecnología blockchain aplicada. Tras la explosión de la tecnología blockchain aplicada al mundo financiero (gracias a sus capacidades de descentralización), se evolucionó rápidamente para dar soporte a contratos inteligentes, abriendo las puertas a ciertos nichos de mercado y nuevos casos de uso. “Muchos de ellos los hemos visto asociados a NFT (Non Fungible Tokens) que han abierto la puerta a posibilidades no exploradas hasta ahora como la venta e intercambio de NFT asociados a grandes eventos, fan tokens en el mundo deportivo…”, apunta Grande.
Pero la tecnología blockchain no sólo sirve para la compra/venta y las posibilidades de descentralización captan cada vez más interés. Bajo el término web3 nos encontramos con el conjunto de tecnologías y herramientas que permiten una descentralización de la red que nos permitirían un movimiento a través de contratos inteligentes. Por eso, blockchain y web3 van a ser términos que escucharemos repetidamente en este nuevo año.
