Un 85% de los ejecutivos del sector de Banca y Seguros a nivel global afirmó que las iniciativas de transformación digital habían aumentado positivamente los ingresos, y el 84% opinó lo mismo sobre la mejora del riesgo y la seguridad, según un estudio de Fujitsu.
La transformación digital (DX) no es sólo una palabra de moda en el sector financiero: está proporcionando un aumento significativo de los ingresos, mejoras en la ciberseguridad, en las relaciones con los clientes y el desarrollo de iniciativas empresariales sostenibles orientadas a un propósito. Estas son algunas de las principales conclusiones del nuevo estudio publicado por Fujitsu realizado por la empresa DataDriven a casi 550 ejecutivos TIC en todo el mundo pertenecientes al sector de Banca y Seguros, con el propósito de conocer actitudes, planes, intenciones, retos y riesgos en torno a la transformación digital.
El 85% afirmó que las iniciativas de DX habían aumentado positivamente los ingresos y el 84% opinó lo mismo sobre la mejora del riesgo y la seguridad. Una amplia mayoría también señaló que la DX había contribuido a reforzar las relaciones con los clientes (83%), a generar confianza (83%), a habilitar nuevos ecosistemas (82%) y a impulsar un enfoque empresarial sostenible y orientado a objetivos (82%).
La mayoría de los bancos y las compañías aseguradoras cuenta ya con estrategias e implementaciones maduras de TI en áreas clave, ya que más del 80% de los encuestados informaron de que ya disponen de esas implantaciones en ciberseguridad (86%), en iniciativas de transformación digital en general (84%), en nube privada (83%) y en innovación en el puesto de trabajo (83%).
La seriedad y el interés por la ciberseguridad es un elemento importante que desvela el estudio, no solo a nivel de los despliegues existentes que se focalizan en un 88,0% de los encuestados que afirma que ya cuenta con antivirus y programas espía, seguidos de la respuesta a la detección y recuperación de incidentes (83,3%), la protección contra ransomware (83,2%), las iniciativas de copia de seguridad y recuperación (82,7%) y las políticas de privacidad de datos (82,2%). Sino en cuanto a las inversiones futuras como por ejemplo, el 80,0% que afirma tener intención de invertir más en seguridad web, el 76,2% en seguridad de la información, el 76,2% en encriptación de datos y el 74,4% en la seguridad de bases de datos.
Según el informe, son más las organizaciones del sector financiero que prevén un incremento de su presupuesto TIC este año, que una disminución. Los factores que impulsan el crecimiento son las nuevas tecnologías y los cambios tecnológicos con un 70,4% y la inversión en investigación y desarrollo, 54,6%. El aumento del gasto en ciberseguridad es el más común, 64,1%, seguido de las comunicaciones y las redes, 62,5%, la innovación en el puesto de trabajo, 61,1% y las iniciativas de sostenibilidad, 59,4%.
Los resultados muestran una amplia adopción de las tecnologías de IA en el sector financiero. Los encuestados indicaron que el mayor uso de la IA radica en la lucha contra el blanqueo de dinero (81,8%), y en la negociación automatizada en tiempo real (80,1%). Más de tres cuartas partes también utilizan la IA en el aprendizaje electrónico (79,0%), las decisiones de crédito automatizadas (78,4%) y el diseño y desarrollo de productos (77,6%). Alrededor del 60% de las organizaciones del sector financiero informan de otras actividades relacionadas con la IA, como la recomendación de soluciones basadas en el perfil del cliente (62,6%), la habilitación de servicios financieros inteligentes (60,4%) y los chatbots basados en la IA (56,7%).
Para lograr sus objetivos de aumentar la eficiencia, reducir el riesgo y mejorar la experiencia del cliente (CX), las organizaciones del sector financiero siguen invirtiendo en sistemas y aplicaciones basados en IA, automatización e IoT. Así, el 74,5% está invirtiendo en IA para la automatización del servicio al cliente, el 74,2% para apoyar los esfuerzos de cumplimiento, y el mismo porcentaje para la detección de fraudes y el 73,6% para los procesos de autenticación.
El sector financiero también está implementando diversas tecnologías de IoT, a menudo junto con iniciativas de IA/automatización, para su uso en sistemas de seguridad (85,7%), aplicaciones de pago (81,3%), operaciones sin papel (80,3%) y formación (79,2%).
La automatización y el análisis de datos son fundamentales para comprender las tendencias de los clientes y desarrollar futuros servicios. Muchos líderes del sector financiero creen que la automatización (74,7%), el equilibrio entre los sistemas antiguos y los nuevos (74,6%), los datos (73,6%) y la IA (72,2%) son claves para la transformación digital. El uso de los datos por parte del sector se centrará en mejorar y ampliar la profundidad de la experiencia del cliente a través de soluciones y servicios a medida.
A pesar de esta aparente madurez, el sector se enfrenta ahora a nuevos retos provocados. Uno de los mayores desafíos es la dificultad de la implantación, en general, ya que más de tres cuartas partes (76%) la califican de moderada a extremadamente difícil. Otros retos a los que se enfrentan las empresas actualmente son las nuevas demandas creadas por la hipercompetencia, la ciberseguridad y la transformación del puesto de trabajo
